Seth Rollins Knee Injury Update – Rollins Suffered Grade 2 MCL Tear & Not Dropping WWE World Title
As noted before, Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury at last week’s WWE RAW show in North Little Rock, Arkansas, which was later revealed to be a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus.
During Monday’s RAW show, Seth Rollins came out to the ring wearing a brace on his knee to provide an update on his knee injury and WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign status. Rollins confirmed that he suffered a knee injury and it took place following him doing a moonsault but his knee felt like it went in a way it is not supposed to go to. Rollins stated that his MRI revealed that he had suffered a Grade 2 tear of his MCL. Rollins also stated that if he undergoes surgery, he is looking at being out of action for three to four months but if it was up to him, he would out here next week stomping people’s heads into the match because that is what he loves to do. Rollins stated that unfortunately this decision is not up to him. Rollins stated that he does not really know what the future holds and he is taking things day by day and week by week.

Before Rollins could continue, Imperium came out to interrupt and Gunther made his way into the ring. Rollins stated that he does not have the time for this and for them to just get on with it if they wanted to attack him. Gunther responded telling Rollins he did not have to worry since Imperium has a tag team match later and he should concentrate instead on Gunther. Gunther then proceeded to praise Rollins for being a great champion just like himself and stated that Rollins not being able to make it to WrestleMania as champion made him sad.

Rollins responded back stating that they should have let him finish since he does not give a dam what the doctors say or how hard he has to rehab since he is keeping his promise of going into WrestleMania as champion and walk out as champion. Gunther responded back stating that he was happy to hear that and admires what Rollins said. Gunther stated that he was going to win the Royal Rumble, botching when it takes place by saying this Sunday instead of Saturday, and will pick Rollins as his choice and target his knee, back, and anything else that is not 100% at WrestleMania. Rollins responded stating that he appreciates Gunther’s honesty but warned him to remember who he would be coming after. Rollins and Gunther then shook hands while New Day ambushed the rest of Imperium at ringside to start their tag team match.

Kofi Kingston vs. Gunther for Intercontinental Title & More Matches Announced for Jan. 29th RAW Show
Monday’s RAW show also featured the official announcement of an Intercontinental Championship match of Kofi Kingston vs. Gunther (c) for the card of next week’s show on January 29th.
This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving New Day and Jey Uso. RAW backstage interviewer Jackie Redmond asked New Day where things ends with Imperium which led to Xavier Woods responding back stating that they are tired of everyone forgetting that they are 12-time WWE Tag Team Champions. Kingston stated that because of the unicorns, Booty-O’s, pancakes, and high-fiving kids that people think they can not go when they need to. Kingston also stated that their stuff with Imperium is a perfect example of what happens when you push them too far. Kingston also stated that Jey is not the only one planning on winning some gold this year. After some more words, Kingston issued a challenge to Gunther for his Intercontinental Championship for next week’s show. Later in the show, it was announced that this match was made official for next week’s show.
