Ace Steel Comments on Being “Very Proud” of CM Punk for His WWE Return

A recent episode of the Wrestling with Rip Rodgers podcast featured former AEW producer Ace Steel as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Steel’s thoughts about his departure from AEW.

“Well, I worked with a lot of great people, some great, some not so much. Family still exists in this business, there are things none of us can say, and none of us will, you know, I think my wife’s the only one who could probably tell the story since she was there. Maybe someday. You don’t fuck with family. We came out just fine. You might hear something; I’m sure it’s gonna be on fucking Dark Side of the Ring someday; I laughed at the time, going, ‘All this shit’s gonna be on Dark Side of the Ring someday,’ you know, someone’s going to want to know.”

Steel also gave his thoughts about his best friend CM Punk’s return to WWE at this past November’s Survivor Series WarGames 2023 event.

“I’m very proud of my number one student that I’ve ever coached in the world for heading back to show the world who the fuck he is… The reason people hate him or whatever is he’s not about the bullshit, and the guy doesn’t take shit, and he doesn’t take it lightly. And when you’ve had enough shit, you either explode, or you take care of business yourself, and you defend yourself.”

Charlotte Flair Knee Injury Update

As noted before, Charlotte Flair suffered a potential knee injury at this past Friday’s SmackDown show in Providence, Rhode Island. Flair was pulled from her scheduled appearances for this past weekend’s WWE house show events as a health precaution.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Flair recently returned to her home in Florida and WWE officials currently do not expect her to return to in-ring action until she has been completely evaluated medically. Johnson reported that WWE officials also have pulled Flair from traveling for the company until they get a confirmation on the nature of her injury.

Johnson reported that there have been no new details regarding Flair’s injury beyond the current belief that she had suffered a knee injury.
