Ric Flair Comments on Criticisms Over His Work with AEW & Willing to Walk Away if He is Embarrassing AEW
Ric Flair recently commented on Twitter about his frustrations over the recent negative online criticisms he has been receiving for his appearances in AEW and being willing to walk away if he is embarrassing the company.
Flair’s post was in response to a controversial promo Flair gave during this past Wednesday’s television tapings for Rampage. This controversy was caused over a line Flair had stated which was “invited all the women in the audience from ages 18-28 to meet him in his hotel room. No boyfriends or husbands.” It is currently not known if this line will be edited out for the broadcast of tonight’s Rampage show.
“I Am So Tired Of Hearing All This Negativity! I Don’t Need To Work, And I Don’t Need The Money. Can’t I Simply Enjoy Being By My Dear Friend @Sting’s Side For The Next Few Months Without So Much Hatred? I Know I’m Old, But That Doesn’t Mean I Can’t Enjoy Life! I Have Earned The Right To Do Whatever I Want & I’m Exactly Where I Want To Be! I Appreciate Everything @TonyKhan, But I’m More Than Willing To Walk Away If I Am Embarrassing You And Your Company. All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry!”

All Out 2021, along with All In, are our biggest pay-per-views of all time and we’ve had a lot of great success as a company as a team and in some of the most exciting times, CM Punk has been a big part of that team.”

In a recent interview with the New York Post, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about QT Marshall’s recent resignation and departure from the company. Khan stated “I really, really like Mike [Cuellari], QT. I worked with him for a number of years. He has very high aspirations and rightfully so. He’s a very talented person. He’s got a great mind for wrestling and he’s a very talented wrestler. He cares a lot about the people around him. He’s a very giving person. He also does want to have an in-ring career and I think that’s important to him and he is someone that offers a lot to any company and I have only very positive things to say about QT.“

Yeah [when Thompson asked if he would die in the seat.] That doesn’t mean I’m gonna be 80 when I do it. I don’t think I’m slowing down. I just don’t think I’m slowing down. I’m really honored that Tony would allow me to do play-by-play again at this stage in my life. Right now, I’m 66. I turned 66 on November 7th. I still got…realistically, I think I’ve got one more contract in me, if Tony will go with that, and then we’ll see what happens.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Will Ospreay gave his thoughts about his recent signing with AEW. Ospreay stated “At the time, Tony asked what I was interested in doing next in my career. I said my focus was on Japan, and he respected that. I’ll always remember how he respected how I felt. I also need to mention that night was the only singles match I’ve ever wrestled against PAC–that’s something I want to throw out there so we can run it back and put it to rest between us. People need to remember this–since then, I’ve built a trust and respect with Tony. That’s very important to me. When Tony had me work matches for AEW, like I did this summer at All In at Wembley Stadium, he didn’t have to do that. He trusted me. That meant the world to me. Now that I’m coming to AEW, I trust him with the aura of Will Ospreay and the character of Will Ospreay. Tony Khan has genuinely changed my life. In return, I am going to deliver the best matches I can deliver.“
