More on Tammy Sytch’s Sentencing to Over 17 Years in Prison
As noted before, former wrestler Tammy Sytch was arrested this past May in Florida following a police investigation into a fatal car accident involving Sytch in March of 2022. Sytch was convicted of the charges against her and sentenced to over 17 years in prison this past Monday.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Sytch is currently tentatively slated to be transferred into the Florida State Prison system for her incarceration.
Johnson reported that Melissa Leslie, wife of WWE Hall of Famer Brutus Beefcake, had been scheduled to testify at Sytch’s sentencing hearing on Sytch’s behalf but she did not appear for reasons not given.
Many within the wrestling world spoken to reportedly stated that they were upset at Sytch over her using the death of Chris Candido as a reason for her life’s downfall in a statement she gave to the court. Those same people reportedly also stated that they felt Sytch’s behavior well before Candido’s passing drew red flags for the downwards direction her life likely would having been heading towards.
Several of those spoken to reportedly also stated that they felt that one of the experts who testified on Sytch’s behalf using pro wrestling and “blows to the head” as a reason for Sytch’s bad behavior was disingenuous. Those same people reportedly noted that she hardly ever wrestled and the majority of her matches were in SMW where she worked in a managerial role.
