As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced that this Saturday’s Full Gear 2023 will feature the official debut of a new signee for the company. A major talent name who was denied to be the identity of AEW’s new mystery signing is Mercedes Mone.
Another major talent name who was also recently denied to be AEW’s newest signing is Ronda Rousey, according to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp.
Andrew Zarian reported in a recent episode of The Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast that his sources stated that the identity of this mystery new signing for AEW is expected to be Will Ospreay.
Prior to his report, Zarian had been hinting on Twitter that this new signee was Ospreay.

In regards to Ospreay’s current contract status with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that a deal would have very likely been reached between NJPW and AEW officials to allow Ospreay to sign with AEW despite his current contract with NJPW not expiring until February of 2024.
Meltzer speculated that NJPW and AEW being business partners meant they could make a deal allowing Ospreay to still work at NJPW’s big events while being under contract with AEW. Meltzer reported that this was something that would not be possible if Ospreay were to sign with WWE and likely played a big role in NJPW’s decision over his expiring contract situation.
Meltzer also reported that his sources have yet to confirm that Ospreay is indeed AEW’s newest signing since he was told two different names by two different sources spoken to.
