Sonny Kiss Comments on Her Free Agency Status & Plans
PWInsider held a recent interview with former AEW talent Sonny Kiss. One of the topics discussed included Kiss’ thoughts on the current status and plans for her free agency.
“I don’t plan to be a free agent for very long. I made a vision board and it was one of the most liberating and inspiring things ever. Being able to see the things you plan to do and eventually knowing you’re going to start checking off each one is a beautiful feeling. I look at it every day because it’s the screensaver on my phone and I remember that these are my goals. These are the things that I want. I want all the smoke when it comes to the matches, the best matches, the best people, whether it’s the Knockouts, Superstars, or athletes. If you get it, you get it. No matter what company I am, no matter who I’m wrestling, what I’m doing, I just want to be successful and continue to keep growing and get everything that I deserve and worked hard for.”

Billy Corgan Disputes Reports Over NWA’s TV Deals Being Negatively Affected by Controversial Cocaine Spot Incident
As noted before, the National Wrestling Alliance is believed to have signed a TV deal with The CW that was in jeopardy following a cocaine spot incident at the NWA’s Samhain event this past October.
A recent episode of the Drew Garbo Live podcast featured NWA owner Billy Corgan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Corgan disputing the reports and rumors of the NWA’s television deals with a network being negatively affected over the controversial cocaine spot at last month’s NWA event.
“I’d like to say, first and foremost, we are a television content producer. Wrestling in the 21st century is television first and everything else second. That’s not to say that the second is not important, but if you can’t drive from television down, you’re going to have a hard time building an audience. Certainly, being on national television in any capacity, digital or otherwise, broadcast network, that’s how you reach the most people. Going into a market like Sarasota, as we’ll be Saturday after next, having people have a routine to reach your television product is part of what makes people want to see the matches. We are free on YouTube, but the way YouTube works, and the way people’s schedules are, unless they go looking for stuff, they may not know you’re there. TV deals are at the core of it, and there has been a ton of speculation lately, and I stand by what I said. We have two TV deals with a top 20 network. That’s all I can say for now. There is lots of speculation that’s not true, but I can stand here and say, hand on heart, that is absolutely true.”

Arez MLW Release Request Status Update
As noted before, Major League Wrestling talent Arez recently publicly requested his release from the company. MLW responded stating that it had been granted months ago but blamed Lucha Libre AAA over the lack of communication sent back to Arez.
Fightful Select reported that their sources within MLW stated that AAA head booker Konnan had acknowledged to them that he would let Arez and Aramis know of their releases months ago but had not heard anything since then.
Those within MLW reportedly stated that Arez and Aramis have been officially released and can do as they please for their careers since they have been off the company’s internal roster list for over six months. Those same sources spoken to reportedly speculated that eitehr AAA officials failed to inform Arez and Aramis of their releases from MLW or did not officially authorize the releases.
It was reported that there was a release document with a signature page with both MLW and AAA high level officials that was waiting for Arez’s signature to finalize his release.
In regards to MLW’s lack of bookings for Arez and Aramis over this past year, it was reported that this was due to MLW now being in a working partnership with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, who does not allow their talent to work on shows if AAA talent are also booked for them.
It was reported that when contacted for his side of the story, Arez stated “I was never informed of my release, even when I asked them to inform me about what was happening, they only said that I should wait until the contract time had passed.”
