More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for September 13th
The September 13th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a slight increase in overall viewership and key demographic rankings.
AEW drew 888,000 viewers and a 0.31 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 1st place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases this week was due to the small gain from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 4.5% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the declines from their older male key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 10.1% and 7.6% respectively compared to last week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, Real Housewives of Orange County drew 797,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 402,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 116,000 viewers (up 14.9%), Females 18-34 was 56,000 viewers (up 3.7%), Males 35-49 was 169,000 viewers (down 10.1%), and Females 35-49 was 61,000 viewers (down 7.6%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 285,000 male viewers and 117,000 female viewers for a split of 70.9% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 962,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 801,000 viewers for their seventh quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 24.4% in overall viewership and down 21.2% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 23.6% compared to the same week last year.

The September 8th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a slight increase in key demographic ratings
AEW drew 385,000 viewers and a 0.13 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 12th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 61.4% and 10.7% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the decline from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was down 10.4% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2023 U.S. Open Men’s Semi-finals game drew 2,262,000 viewers on ESPN, the College Football game of Illinois vs. Kansas drew 1,356,000 viewers on ESPN2, Love After Lockup drew 366,000 viewers on WETV, and House Hunters drew 939,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 170,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 40,000 viewers (up 100%), Females 18-34 had 39,000 viewers (up 34.5%), Males 35-49 had 60,000 viewers (down 10.4%), and Females 18-35 had 31,000 viewers (up 10.7%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 100,000 male viewers and 70,000 female viewers for a split of 58.8% in favor of males. Meltzer also reported that AEW’s male viewership for the show for the show was much lower than usual for an AEW show.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 10.3% in overall viewership and down 6.6% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 61.2% compared to the same week last year.

The September 9th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a small increase in key demographic ratings and key demographic rankings.
AEW drew 476,000 viewers and a 0.15 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 14th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large increase in younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 89.7% and 100% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. Another reason reportedly was due to the lack of stiff competition from a WWE PLE event which had generated around 1 million viewers on Peacock for the prior week’s Payback 2023 event. This reportedly offset the stiff sports competition from College Football and the decline from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was down 7.5% compared to the prior week’s show. Meltzer reported that the final minute of AEW’s show drew 520,00 overall viewers and 222,000 key demographic viewers for the main event of Samoa Joe vs. Penta El Zero Miedo.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the College Football simulcast game of Texas vs. Alabama drew 7,963,000 viewers on ESPN and 799,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College Football game of UCF vs. Boise State drew 306,000 viewers on FS1, the Big 10 College Football game drew 357,000 viewers on Big 10 Network, the College Football game of Oregon vs. Texas Tech drew 2,554,000 viewers on FOX, the College Football game of Wisconsin vs. Washington State drew 2,278,000 viewers on ABC, the College Football game of UCLA vs. San Diego State drew 1,076,000 viewers on CBS, and On Patrol Live drew 771,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 199,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 53,000 viewers (up 140.9%), Females 18-34 had 21,000 viewers (up 23.5%), Males 35-49 had 74,000 viewers (down 7.5%), and Females 35-49 had 50,000 viewers (up 100%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 127,000 male viewers and 71,000 female viewers for a split of 63.8% in favor of males.
