As noted before, Jade Cargill is currently expected to be leaving AEW and heading to WWE once her current contract expires.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there had been some discussions within WWE and AEW over the nature of Cargill’s contract over this summer following her taking a break from AEW after this past May’s Double or Nothing 2023 event. Those spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that they are currently under the belief that her AEW contract might be structured in a way that could open her to be signed immediately by the company. It was reported that Cargil is currently believed to hold the option years for her contract with AEW but this is something that has yet to confirm from their sources.
In regards to the reason for Cargill’s decision to leave AEW, it was reported that one source spoken to stated that this is not financially motivated.
In regards to Cargill’s match against Kris Statlander at this past Wednesday’s Rampage tapings in Cincinnati, Ohio, it was reported that following Cargill returning backstage, she was greeted by several members of the roster and exchanged hugs. Those spoken to reportedly stated that this was seen as her farewell to the company. Many of those spoken to reportedly stated that she was headed to WWE but this was something that Cargill did not explicitly state to others. Instead, Cargill reportedly informed others that she may focus on her family and her softball team for her next move.
In regards to WWE, it was reported that several top WWE talents had heard as early of last week that Cargill would be heading to their company. This reportedly was a topic of discussion backstage at this past Monday’s RAW show.
