In a recent interview with SEScoops.com, Hikaru Shida gave her thoughts about wanting to have a match with ROH Women’s World Champion Athena during her current reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. Shida stated “Yeah, actually, I have one name. It’s Athena. We had just one single at SHIMMER. It was a long time ago, but I really love that much. I’m watching her for a long time, of course, in AEW but before when she was in the other company, I saw her long time and always she’s good. So yeah, I believe in this reign I wrestle her. I really want to.“
In a recent interview with the Daily Star, Toni Storm gave her thoughts about AEW’s upcoming All In event taking place at Wembley Stadium. Storm stated “I mean I’m very excited because it’s the biggest show that we’re about to do, the biggest show in AEW history. I’m just a little disappointed that it’s in England, I just wish Wembley Stadium could be in a different place because I lived in England for a very long time. It’s where I got established, it’s where I made a name for myself. I am British, I have a British family. I’m just really bummed I have to go back, I thought I left my life behind there. But it’s what a champion does, you know? The only reason I’d be excited to see those fans again, is that I get to rub it in how successful I am now. That’s gonna feel really good. That’s the only thing motivating me, just my excitement to show off how great I have become and officially denounce my British citizenship. Wembley Stadium, I can’t think of a better place.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with The Torg & Elliott Show radio show, Mark Henry gave his thoughts about his belief that CM Punk and Kenny Omega will eventually compete in a singles match together in AEW. Henry stated “I want to see it too. It’s just a matter of time. You let things iron themselves out, and you see where things lead to. Could you imagine an AEW tournament for the World Title and on one side of the bracket, to go to the finals, you have Kenny Omega and CM Punk meet up against each other? It would be incredible. The top 100 wrestlers of all time, they’re halfway on it. CM Punk and Kenny Omega are in the top 40 of all time. People don’t realize, you go to the NFL, look up the top 100 football players, see who is in the top 40. It will blow your mind. Same thing with any other sport. I’d like to see the top 100 baseball players and see who is the top 40. It’s nothing to sneeze at. I believe in both of those guys being great competitors and I feel they have a lot left, multiple years. Kenny Omega just signed a new deal. He’s going to be around another four years.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
