Two New Champions Crowned at AEW Double or Nothing 2023
Sunday’s Double or Nothing 2023 event by AEW in Las Vegas, Nevada featured two championship title changing hands.
The first championship to change hands was Toni Storm defeating Jamie Hayter to be crowned the new AEW Women’s World Champion. Prior to the start of the match, The Outcasts’ Saraya and Ruby Soho dragged out an injured Hayyer out to the ring but Hayter told the ref that she still wanted to compete and not forfeit her title. The Outcasts interfered throughout the match including removing a turnbuckle pad, which led to Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida coming out and attacking The Outcasts to even the odds. The finish to this match saw Hayter hit Storm with a ripcord lariat using her injured arm but was unable to complete the pin due to her being in pain. Hayter tried for a second time but Storm dodged the attack and sent Hayter into the exposed turnbuckle post. Storm then hit her Storm Zero for the pinfall title victory.
There's no QUIT in the Champ @jmehytr!

The second championship to change hands was Kris Statlander defeating Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship. Following Cargill’s victory to retain her TBS title against Taya Valkyrie, Mark Sterling boasted about Cargill’s undefeated 60-0 streak and issued an open challenge since he claimed nobody could beat her. This led to Kris Statlander making her surprise return and accepting the challenge for the match to take place right now. The finish to this match saw Statlander escape Cargill’s Jaded attempt and hit her own Friday Night Fever finisher for the pinfall title victory.
After her 60th title defense, TBS Champion @Jade_Cargill's open challenge has just been answered by none other than @callmekrisstat!!!
