Updated Match Announced for Buy-In & New Match Added for Double or Nothing 2023
Friday’s AEW Rampage show featured one new match officially announced and one match update for the card of AEW’s Double or Nothing 2023 event, which takes place on Sunday, May 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In regards to the new match, this was announced to be an Open Challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship match of a mystery team vs. House of Black (c). This match was also announced to be held under the House of Black’s Open House Rules stipulation which allows a unique Dealer’s Choice stip option for the challengers.
In regards to the updated match, this was announced to be The Hardys & HOOK vs. The Gunns & Ethan Page. Following The Gunns & Page’s victory over a jobber trios team on the show, Page gave a promo taunting The Hardys about them being down a man for their upcoming Trios match at Double or Nothing 2023. The Hardys then came out with Jeff saying that Page and the Gunns’ egos will be deleted this Sunday and Matt claiming that Page’s contract and ass will belong to him after their match. Isiah Kassidy came out in a neck brace and announced that he was not medically cleared to compete in the Trios match but found a replacement for him. Isiah revealed this person to be HOOK, who came out and proceeded to go to the ring with The Hardys causing Page and the Gunns to quickly leave. It was announced on commentary that this newly updated match will be taking place at the Buy-In Pre-show for this Sunday’s event.
