AEW: Luchasaurus Mask Lawsuit Update, Anna Jay on No Holds Barred Match with Julia Hart, More News

Luchasaurus Mask Lawsuit Update

As noted before, AEW and Luchasaurus are currently dealing with a lawsuit filed against them over allegations of copyright infringement involving Luchasaurus’ mask design.

Fightful’s Robert DeFelice reported that the presiding judge ruled against AEW and Luchasaurus’, real name Austin Matelson, motion to have the lawsuit against them be dismissed on May 16th based on recent court records.

In the court filing, the judge reportedly had felt that Composite Effects had adequately pleaded their breach of contract and LUPTA claims and copyright claims to allow their case to proceed.

Anna Jay Comments on Her Recent No Holds Barred Match with Julia Hart

A recent episode of the Under The Ring podcast featured Anna Jay A.S. as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Jay’s thoughts about her No Holds Barred match against Julia Hart during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Detroit, Michigan.

“Yeah, well, I mean it was cool (to have the match on Dynamite with Julia Hart). I definitely didn’t expect to have that kind of match with Julia ever. But yeah, I mean, it’s fun. It’s one of those things where, to me personally, those kind of matches are the most fun and the most intense and kind of just a different beast in itself so to have that with Julia was kind of cool. I mean obviously, we’re not best friends now but, overall I’m happy with it and I think that it went okay besides me losing.”

I was elated. I was nervous.”

In a recent interview with WhatCulture, Ortiz gave his thoughts on the idea of a Forbidden Door concept in wrestling and AEW’s current working partnerships with other companies. Ortiz stated “I personally want to take advantage of all these working relationships we have, with New Japan, with NOAH, with DDT, stuff like that. Going back to Mexico, doing some AAA stuff. So, I like playing both ends. I’m a very even person, so I can do both, but there will be moments where I have a fire lit underneath my ass and I wanna do something more. Finding that spot and finding that balance, people have to navigate it, not just in wrestling but life.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
