Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio Added to WrestleMania 39
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Las Vegas, Nevada featured one new match officially added to the card of next month’s WrestleMania 39 event in Inglewood, California.
This new match was announced to be a single match of Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio. During Rey’s match against LA Knight on the show, Dominik made a surprise appearance to distract Rey causing him to be tossed from the top turnbuckle onto the mat for the commercial break spot. Later in the match, Dominik interfered leading to Rey losing his match to Knight.
Following the match, Dominik gave a promo verbally berating his mother and sister at ringside. Before his mother could respond back, Dominik yanked the microphone away from her and continued his tirade leading to Rey walking up to his son and slugging him. Rey then stated that he had enough of Dominik’s actions and officially accepted his match request for WrestleMania 39.

Despite Dominik getting punched by his dad, it was probably a lot better than getting a chancla thrown at him by his mother if she had the chance to do so.
Women’s Tag Showcase & John Cena vs. Austin Theory Matches Updates
Friday’s SmackDown show in Las Vegas also featured the official announcement that John Cena’s match against Austin Theory will be the opening match for Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 on April 1st.
