Kofi Kingston Injury Status Update

As noted before, Kofi Kingston suffered an ankle injury at this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Washington, D.C. Kingston was recently pulled from his scheduled #1 Contender’s Five-way match for the Intercontinental Championship on tonight’s SmackDown show due to his injury situation.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials currently are expecting Kingston to be out of action for five weeks.

Meltzer reported that while WWE officials had some initial concern over Kingston being potentially out for a longer period of time, the current internal feeling is that Kingston will not need to undergo surgery for his injury for the time being.


WWE Reportedly in Talks to Hold a Major Stadium Event in Australia

WWE reportedly is currently in talks regarding potential plans to hold a major event in Australia in the future, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently in talks with the state government of Western Australia to hold a major event in a stadium location in Australia in the future. Meltzer reported that the likely city to host this potential event would be Perth due to their recent history hosting an UFC event.

Meltzer also reported that WWE’s deal for a stadium event in Australia would be similar to their past deal with Melbourne to hold two stadium events in the city.


WWE 2K23 News & Notes

WWE 2K23 was recently revealed to be featuring a new AI Logic system that was stated by those who have play tested the game to be similar to the Fire Pro Wrestling series in terms of the AI for in-game wrestlers being fully customizable.

2K Games recently announced several new details for MyFaction mode for their upcoming WWE 2K23 game. One of the new changes for this year’s game mode is the ability to play head-to-head Quick Play matches online compared to WWE 2K22’s offline-only MyFaction mode.

2K Games also recently announced their full schedule of DLC packs for WWE 2K23. It was announced that there will be five DLC packs for the game in total with the first to be released on April 19th and the last on August 16th.
