UPDATE:
Fightful Select reported that their sources provided more details regarding Sarray’s recent departure from WWE.
It was reported that the beginning of the end of Sarray’s time in WWE dates back to early 2022 when many of her biggest supporters were released from WWE’s NXT brand. Those spoken to reportedly stated that NXT officials never had any consistent or major creative plans for her after that point. It was reported that the “writing was on the wall” for her career in WWE by spring of 2022 over these issues. William Regal’s departure from WWE at the time reportedly was stated by many of those spoken to as the turning point for Sarray’s career in the company.
Those spoken to who frequent WWE’s Performance Center reportedly stated that she had not been seen there in “ages” and were not given any answers by NXT officials when they asked about her status. It was reported that the general feeling within the company was that the creative plans given to her were outright bad.
Those within WWE reportedly stated that Sarray had taken great pride in helping Tiffany Stratton’s development as a rising star during their short feud. Sarray reportedly also had positive views of a lot of WWE’s up and coming talent on their NXT brand.
While there was a language barrier due to Japanese being her primary language, it was reported that Sarray did not have any issues when it came to dealing with others in NXT and was praised by those in the Performance Center.
It was reported that those spoken to within WWE have yet to confirm her departure but stated that her work with the company is “effectively done.”
NXT talent Sarray reportedly will be leaving WWE once her current contract with the company expires soon, according to Tokyo Sports.
It was reported that Sarray will be holding a press conference on March 13th to announce the official resumption of her career in Japan. It was also announced that Sarray will be performing under her previous ring name of Sareee and her first match post-WWE career will be taking place on May 16th for an event called Sarreee-ISM at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan.
Prior to her departure, Sarray had been with WWE since February of 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her move to the United States at the time. Sarray last wrestled and appeared for WWE’s NXT brand this past August.
