Kevin Owens Recently Pitched Idea for Match with Shawn Michaels

Kevin Owens reportedly recently pitched an idea for a match with Shawn Michaels in the future, according to Fightful Select.

It was reported that Owens made the announcement during a recent episode of the French-language Sans Restriction podcast. Owens reportedly stated that he had recently asked Michaels if he was interested in the idea of wrestling one more match and against him as a potential opponent. Owens also stated that this talk took place following Owens’ appearance on the October 18th NXT show and was inspired by his match against Stone Cold Steve Austin at this past April’s WrestleMania 38 event.

Fightful reported that their sources stated that Michaels had told Owens that while he is interested in the idea, he does not think he should do another match.


Adam Pearce Rescinds Bobby Lashley’s Storyline Firing from WWE

This past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin featured a #1 Contender’s match for the United States Championship between Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley, which was won by Rollins. Following the match, Lashley snapped over his loss and put his hands on WWE officials leading to Adam Pearce firing Lashley over his actions.

Pearce recently provided an update on Twitter stating that he had officially rescinded Lashley’s firing and apologized for his involvement in “escalating an already volatile situation” with Lashley at the end of the show.


WWE News & Notes

As noted before, William Regal will be returning to WWE starting this January. As part of the terms of his release from AEW, Regal will only be allowed to work in a backstage role and not in any on-screen role in WWE for one year. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Regal’s will have a Vice President position when he makes his official return to WWE.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials have held recent talks regarding potential main roster call-up plans for NXT talents Cameron Grimes and Von Wagner. Those same sources reportedly also stated that WWE officials inviting NXT talent for dark matches and Main Event tapings is not meant to be an indication of upcoming call-ups for those talents and instead simply WWE officials wanting a first-hand look of those talents working on the road and in front of a regular WWE audience. WWE officials reportedly also currently have the view of Main Event tapings being their way of rewarding NXT talent for their hard work in developmental.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE held a holiday party for their employees this past Tuesday at their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Johnson reported that Johnny Gargano, Omos, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque were among those in attendance at the party.

As noted before, WWE released Mandy Rose on Wednesday over issues related to adult themed content she had been posting on her FanTime account. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that WWE recently moved Rose’s profile to their Alumni section on their official website.

As noted before, former AEW and Impact Wrestling talent Kylie Rae was among the indie wrestlers invited by WWE for tryouts at their Performance Center this past week. Rae made her official debut for WWE at this past Monday’s tapings for Thursday’s episode of Main Event under the new ring name of Briana Ray. Following the airing of the show, Rae reflected on Twitter about making her official debut in WWE.
