WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Status Update

As noted before, Saudi Arabia recently became aware of a potential terrorist attack being planned to take place very soon in their country. WWE is currently scheduled to hold their Crown Jewel 2022 event in the country this Saturday.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer and PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that their sources stated that WWE officials currently are not planning to cancel their upcoming event.

Meltzer reported that WWE officials are currently monitoring the situation but at the moment, the current plans are for their Crown Jewel 2022 event to go ahead as scheduled.

Johnson reported that WWE officials currently have both security protocols and emergency contingency plans in place for this upcoming event. WWE officials reportedly are currently hopeful that everything will be fine in time for this weekend’s event in the country.


Bodhi Hayward Comments on WWE Release

As noted before, WWE released five talents from their NXT brand this past Tuesday. Among those released included Chase University’s Bodhi Hayward.

Hayward recently stated on Twitter that the reports of his release are true and reflected on his release. Hayward also stated that he will now be known under the new ring name of Brady Booker going forward.

“What up brodies. It’s your boy, Bodhi Hayward. Brady Booker here, to tell you I was just released from the WWE. I’m hurt, I’m embarrassed and brodies, I’m just down bad. For the last 18 months, Andre Chase University and wrestling has been my whole life. But I am no stranger to adversity. Adversity is something that has come up my whole life and I’ve always found a way to get on top. I will do it again. I’m Brady Booker and I’m here to stay.”

WWE News & Notes

Television game show series Wheel of Fortune recently announced that they have signed a partnership deal with WWE for special WWE-themed episodes next year. It was announced that filming for these episodes will be taking place in early 2023.

Kevin Patrick reportedly will be replacing Vic Joseph as the new co-host of the WWE After the Bell with Corey Graves podcast series starting this Friday, according to Sports Illustrated.

Becky Lynch reportedly was recently added to the cast of NBC’s Young Rock series, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Lynch will be portraying Cyndi Lauper for season three of the series and is believed to be a recurring character for that season.

Due to recent changes in MLB’s schedule for their on-going 2022 World Series, this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown is currently scheduled to air on FOX instead of being preempted again to FS1 for the second week in a row. The official reason was due to Game 3 had been originally scheduled to air this past Monday but was postponed to this past Tuesday due to rain-related issues which caused MLB’s schedule for the remainder of the World Series to be changed as a result.

Rapper Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, and member of hip hop group Migos reportedly was killed in a shooting incident on Tuesday in Houston, Texas, according to CNN. Takeoff and the Migos were notable in wrestling history for being the official musical performers for WWE’s Day 1 event this past January in Atlanta, Georgia.

Roman Reigns is currently on track to surpass three full years without suffering a pinfall loss, according to WrestleOps. It was stated that should Reigns not be pinned during the month of November, he will end up achieving this record and will have surpassed 1095 days in total as a result.
