Tony Khan Announces AEW & Pro Wrestling NOAH Partnership

Pro Wrestling NOAH held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. While discussing Sting’s upcoming appearance for NOAH for The Great Muta’s retirement event in January of 2023, Khan revealed that AEW and NOAH have recently signed a partnership deal.

“I’m a huge fan of The Great Muta. Great Muta is a wrestler I first saw when I was very young, first when I was eight years old and the first time I saw Great Muta wrestle was against Sting on a VHS of the Great American Bash 1989 I got from Blockbuster video then I saw many Great Muta matches, Super Brawl 3 against Barry Windham, Japan Super Shows with WCW and then when I was 12 years old, I started trading tapes and I watched a ton of New Japan Pro Wrestling and I loved when Great Muta would come to WCW when I was a kid, and I followed Great Muta in his career through different promotions and it was such a pleasure to come full circle and see Great Muta in the ring with AEW’s greatest icon, Sting on AEW Rampage Grand Slam in New York City. It was a beautiful moment to see Sting and Darby Allin out there together with Great Muta. In particular, Sting and Great Muta are great friends, long time rivals, and Linked in history, I think together forever through many decades, and I can say that in 2023 next year, Sting will come to Yokohama, Japan with NOAH and represent AEW overseas this January, next year and the legacy of Sting and the legacy of The Great Muta continues on into 2023, AEW and NOAH working together, thank you.”

Eddie Kingston Comments on Proudest Moment of His AEW Career So Far

TV Insider held a recent interview with Eddie Kingston. One of the topics discussed included Kingston’s thoughts on what he considers to be the proudest moment of his AEW career so far.

“The most fun I’ve had was teaming up with Jon Moxley. I think that came off when people saw our interviews and saw us together. Beating people up with Mox was fun. Teaming up with Santana and Ortiz was also good. I remember the day they signed with AEW. They were at an independent show with me and told me. I hugged them and was so proud. I remember Santana saying, ‘One day all three of us.’ I told them don’t worry about that and to just do great. They did. Then when we were able to be together [in AEW] it became we set out a goal and did it. That is a proud moment.”

Kingston also gave his thoughts on the growth and evolution of his career in AEW.

“I make missteps every time I’m there, to be honest with you. I’m still learning that this is a different world. It’s still professional wrestling, but the backstage stuff, which I don’t like to tweet about or talk about – you got to get used to it. It’s a different world compared to the independents. The independents are very outlaw. We don’t have HR there. We police ourselves. I learn every day. That’s where I have grown. I’m able to now be open and learn. There are different ways of doing things that can help the locker room and also keep my mental sanity. I don’t want to be angry. I want to save all that anger and energy for my opponent or what I’m doing that night.”
