AEW: Chris Jericho Suffers Broken Nose Injury, Kenny Omega, CM Punk, & Adam Cole Injury Updates

Chris Jericho Suffers Broken Nose Injury

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest 2022 Week 2 show featured a Barbed Wire Everywhere match between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston, which was won by Jericho. During the match, Jericho suffered a potential injury to his face following a spot where Jericho gave a Codebreaker to Kingston to counter Kingston’s barbed wire chair shot but ended up hitting his face on the chair in the process.

Following the show, AEW announced that Jericho suffered a broken nose injury during his match against Kingston.

Kenny Omega & CM Punk Injury Status Updates and Potential AEW All Out 2022 Return Plans

As noted before, Kenny Omega has been out of action for AEW since this past November due to him having surgery and rehabbing from multiple injuries. Besides Omega, CM Punk has also been out of action for the company since this past June due to a broken foot injury.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that Omega is currently hoping to be able to make his return in time for AEW’s All Out 2022 event on September 4th.

AEW officials reportedly are also currently hopeful of CM Punk being able to make his return from injury at their upcoming All Out 2022 event. Meltzer reported that should CM Punk be medically cleared in time, AEW will very likely hold an AEW World Championship Unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley at the event.

Adam Cole Injury Status Update

As noted before, Adam Cole has been out of action for AEW since this past June due to a concussion injury.

A recent episode of the Wrestle Buddies podcast had Cole as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cole providing an update on the current progress of his recovery from injury.

“I’m doing okay. I’m definitely on the path, on the track to recovery for sure. I have a great team around me that is helping and just making sure that I’m taken care of to the best of my ability. AEW has been fantastic as far as making sure that I’m getting the right care that I deserve. I feel like I progress and move forward every single week for sure.

I was pretty banged up. So again, for 14 years, being in the pro wrestling industry, I think the most time I’d ever had off, as far as traveling, being on the road, was one month, and I’ve been ‘going, going, going’ nonstop. So eventually, our bodies kind of catch up to us. I had a couple of things that were kind of lingering for me and then with what happened at Forbidden Door, so… but, I feel good. I’m very confident I’ll be back in the ring soon. I’m excited to be back. I miss it so much already. But yeah, I’m feeling good.

So currently, again, in my injured state, VR is definitely not something I can do right now, right? However, generally, I do love the VR and funny enough, Britt, years ago, got me the Oculus Rift, like right when it came out for Christmas. It was amazing. Then, just a couple of weeks ago for my birthday, my mom and my brother got me the Meta Quest 2.”
