This past Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 event in Arlington, Texas featured an unannounced match between Pat McAfee and Vince McMahon. This match was notable for being considered as one of the worst ever matches in WrestleMania history and for featuring one of the worst ever sells of a Stone Cold Stunner by McMahon from Steve Austin.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that McMahon had made the decision to compete at the event months ago but people close to him and in WWE Creative had been vocal over it being a terrible idea.
It was reported that McMahon’s reaction backstage to his match was stated to be one of “plenty of laughs” by him and other WWE officials over how terrible his in-ring performance and sell of Austin’s Stunner was. McMahon reportedly was of the mindset that his awful performance was okay as long as “people were laughing and entertained.”
It was also reported that McMahon had laid out the whole post-match angle including Austin Theory’s music being played leading to McMahon reacting as if it was Stone Cold Steve Austin’s music instead.
