TPWW Power 25 Rankings (2/15/09 – 2/21/09)

These rankings are based on a points system rather than on opinion. As the weeks go on and points accumulate, the list should become more “accurate”.

TPWW Power 25 is a kayfabe ranking system. The goal is to track wins, losses, and title changes for WWE and TNA. Wrestlers are ranked based on the points system listed below the chart. Rankings will be updated each week.

This is an absolutely amazing week as John Morrison takes the lead. It has been an interesting week with 2 big title changes and a lot of in ring action. This weeks list is actually 26 people as there was an 8 way tie for last place and I couldn’t rightfully cut anyone out.

Rank Wrestler Points Title
1 John Morrison 13.5
2 James Storm 13
3 The Miz 12.5
4 Robert Roode 12
5 Awesome Kong 10
4 Triple H 12
7 The Undertaker 9.5
8 Alex Shelley 9
8 MVP 9
10 Christian 8
10 Edge 8
10 Jeff Hardy 8
10 Sting 8
15 Melina 7
16 CM Punk 6
17 Jack Swagger 5
17 Scott Steiner 5
19 Brother Ray 4
19 Carlito 4
19 Finlay 4
19 Kane 4
19 Paul Burchill 4
19 Primo 4
19 Tyson Kid 4
19 Umaga 4

Things to take away from this week: Both TNA and WWE are booking their tag teams champions (with the exeptions of the Colon) very strong. Also we are starting to see non-champions break the top 10. Winning streaks and strong booking should mean more than simply having a title.

And lastly it kinda show that TNA has no respect for Sting, while he is their top champion, every other person with a belt is being booked stronger than him. Hell, Kong is their top singles champion.

Points System

Points are only counted for televised matches.

  • +5 for WWE or World Heavyweight Title
  • +4 for ECW or TNA World Title
  • +3 for any other title (I don’t recognize the TNA Legends Title)
  • +1 for each week a title has been held (I started every champion off this week with 1)
  • +2 for winning a match
  • -2 for losing a match
  • +1 for being on the winning side of a tag match while not scoring the win personally
  • -1 for being on the losing side of a tag match while not losing the match personally
  • -1 for not winning a multiple competitor match while not losing the match personally
  • +1 for being in a PPV match
  • + Half the value of the title for winning a non title match against a champion
  • +3 for winning Money in the Bank, the Royal Rumble (or any battle royal), King of the Mountain, or any other similar specialty match (losing such a match does not result in negative points)
  • +2 for lasting the longest in the Royal Rumble
  • +2 for eliminating the most people in the Royal Rumble
  • +2 for starting at 1 or 2 in the Royal Rumble and making it to the final 4
