WWE: RVD on WWE Hall of Fame Induction, Live Events Update, Audience Changes for NXT TakeOver

RVD Comments on His WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Newspaper Battle Creek Enquirer held a recent interview with Rob Van Dam and one of the topics discussed included his thoughts on his induction into WWE’s Hall of Fame.

“Being inducted into the Hall of Fame probably means more than being a world champion because there are probably a lot of world champions that will never be in the hall of fame,” he said. “To have Vince McMahon stand up during the induction ceremony and tell me that I changed the style of the business was probably the highest compliment I could imagine.”

WWE Live Event Plans Update

This weekend’s two-night Wrestleania 37 event will be the first event with a live crowd for a WWE pay-per-view event since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that while WWE will be having a large live crowd for both nights of WrestleMania 37, the company still does not have any plans for the return of live crowds for their weekly television shows nor events until at least this August. Johnson also reported that the company also currently does not have any plans to resume touring until at least this August as well.

More on Changes Made to NXT Audience

Wednesday’s Night 1 of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver event featured a larger than usual crowd for a NXT show at WWE’s Performance Center.

Fightful Select reported that NXT officials made several changes to the layout of their stage prior to the show which included the removal of pods and dividers that had separated fans for COVID-19 safety reasons. Other changes made reportedly included an elevated area for a row across the hard cam and a seated area opposite of the entrance ramp.

These changes reportedly allowed NXT to have a much larger crowd for TakeOver: Stand & Deliver and for their television shows going forward.

In regards to fans in attendance, it was reported that they are still required to test negative for COVID-19 in order to be allowed inside the venue and must wear masks at all times.
