Tonight at Double or Nothing, AEW ringside physician Michael Sampson gave an update on Britt Baker’s injury that she suffered Wednesday on Dynamite, which forced her to miss tonight’s show.
“Britt sustained a pretty significant injury,” Sampson said. “She has an anterior lateral tibial fracture. She has a partial lateral collateral ligament tear as well as a small degree of a popliteus tendon tear. Pretty significant injuries. But I have to tell you, if we can be real, the injury is actually not as bad as the patient. Pretty high maintenance.”
When asked about a timetable for her return, he said, “She’s under instructions of when she’s gonna return and to follow those instructions. She’s a role model, so she would like to announce to her fans and the world when she is planning on coming back, and she’s gonna do that on Dynamite on Wednesday.”
Recovery times for those types of injuries vary a lot from a few weeks to a few months, so it depends on the severity. It’s possible that Britt might not need surgery, which would shorten her recovery time, but we don’t know either way for now. She’ll be back on TV on Wednesday to tell us more.

Update
During a post-Double or Nothing media scrum, Tony Khan said that they expect Britt Baker to only miss about six to eight weeks of action, so that’s good news.
