Big Show Comments on WWE’s Decision to Resume Live TV Tapings at Performance Center
FOX News held a recent interview with Big Show and one of the topics discussed included his thoughts on WWE resuming live television tapings at their Performance Center despite the on-going coronavirus pandemic in Florida.
“Our number one mission is to entertain our fans. So what we were able to do, which was pretty ingenious, was put on an incredibly diverse, unique WrestleMania experience between the Boneyard Match with Undertaker and the Bonfire Playhouse with Bray Wyatt. Those are just incredible different approaches to doing our sport that our fans liked a lot.
We’re trying to do things the best that we can to entertain and also follow a lot of safety and health guidelines,” he shared. “I know that when I was there to do some things that I do with Drew McIntyre [there was] medical screening, temperature taking and social distancing. It was really nice to see how much WWE went after making the talent as safe as possible and those that wanted to compete for the fans. And that was one thing that’s been made very clear to all the talents — you don’t have to. If you feel uncomfortable, stay at home, stay with your family. If you’re not in a situation where you could put someone else at risk… and you want to try to entertain your fans, you can. I thought they did a great job and WrestleMania turned out amazing.”
The Young Bucks Comments on Hangman Adam Page’s Character Development in AEW
Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, and some of the topics discussed included their thoughts on the character development of Hangman Adam Page in AEW and Chris Jericho being very helpful towards talent.
On the topic of Hangman Adam Page’s character development in AEW, Nick Jackson stated:
“One day Hangman walked up to me, Matt and Brandon Cutler, who helps film Being the Elite, and he said, ‘I think I want to become an alcoholic,’ and I said, ‘What?’ We heard his idea, which was incredible, and we said, ‘Let’s do it.’ Look at him now compared to where he was a year ago. He’s a superstar. A lot of people criticized us when Hangman didn’t beat Jericho. I don’t think he was ready yet. Look at his work now on BTE. His acting is unbelievable, his confidence is through the roof. He’s ready now. If we saw this Adam Page against Jericho, who knows what would have happened.”
On the topic of Chris Jericho being very helpful backstage towards talent, the Young Bucks stated:
Nick Jackson – “I always call him our Hulk Hogan. He’s done it all, and there is something about that. Even though he has been in the business for 30 years or so, he still wants to give back and get characters over. You never see that.”
Matt Jackson – “Most wrestlers want to be over, and they don’t care about anybody else. The prevailing attitude in this business is often, ‘I want you to do good, just not as good as me.’ Jericho wants everyone to be elevated. We made the right call. Look at how he made Darby Allin. Those matches with Jungle Boy and Scorpio Sky were really important too… and Jericho watches all our matches too. People don’t realize he’s the guy that pulls us aside and says, ‘This was great, but you could do this better.’ We don’t have enough of those guys in the business.”
