AEW vs. NXT Week 19 Viewership Update

As noted before, the February 5th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT resulted in Dynamite generating around 928,000 viewers on TNT and a #11 ranking in the 18-49 demographic while NXT generated around 770,000 viewers on USA Network and a #34 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

While the quarter-hour breakdowns were unavailable at the time, Dave Meltzer provided an update in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that featured the quarter-hour breakdowns and other details regarding last week’s episodes.

Meltzer reported that when only counting the two hours AEW and NXT were directly competing against each other, Dynamite drew around 928,000 viewers while NXT drew around 763,000 viewers. It was also reported that AEW won every quarter-hour and doubled NXT’s male 18-49 demographic rating for the first thirty minutes of both shows.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,015,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Cody Rhodes 10 Lashes segment which gained 132,000 viewers. AEW’S biggest decline of the night was the ending of the Best Friends vs. SCU tag team match, the post-match brawl, and the beginning of Britt Baker vs. Yuka Sakazaki match which lost 96,000 viewers.

NXT started off with 811,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley promo segment which gained 49,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Matt Riddle, Pete Dunne, & Tommaso Ciampa vs. Undisputed Era tag team match which lost 69,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 185,000 viewers to end the night.


More on AEW vs. NXT Week 20 Viewership

The February 12th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw both shows decline in viewership but AEW remained on top in terms of overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

AEW Dynamite drew 817,000 viewers on TNT and a #10 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 757,000 viewers on USA Network and a #21 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that TNT had around a 42% drop in viewers for the lead-in program for this week’s episode of Dynamite. Meltzer also reported that AEW saw around a 25% drop in viewers for their opening quarter-hour compared to last week. In regards to quarter-hour breakdowns, NXT won three of the first four quarters while AEW won the remaining quarters in terms of viewership. AEW won every quarter-hour in terms of the 18-49 demographic.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 756,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the ending of the AEW Women’s Championship match of Nyla Rose vs. Riho, the post-match backstage celebration, and the Inner Circle promo segment which gained 115,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the beginning of the Rose vs. Riho match which lost 85,000 viewers.

NXT started off with around 827,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Johnny Gargano vs. Cameron Grimes match which gained 24,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the majority of the #1 Contender’s Match for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship of Lio Rush vs. Angel Garza and Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic video package segment which lost 68,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 136,000 viewers to end the night.
