More on AEW vs. NXT Week 16 Viewership

The January 15th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT resulted in AEW emerging on top in terms of viewership and key demo ratings.

AEW Dynamite drew 940,000 viewers on TNT and a #5 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 700,000 viewers on USA Network and a #31 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that when only comparing the two hours both shows went head-to-head against each other, AEW Dynamite had 940,000 viewers while NXT had 687,000 viewers.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 952,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the remainder of the Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara and Inner Circle’s post-match attack which gained 77,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the main event match of PAC vs. Darby Allin which lost 88,000 viewers.

NXT started off with around 832,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the bulk of the Women’s Battle Royale match which gained 134,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the remainder of the Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle vs. Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews tag team match which lost 90,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 90,000 viewers to end the night.


More on AEW vs. NXT Week 17 Viewership

The January 22nd episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT also resulted in AEW being victorious in terms of viewership and key demo ratings. This week was notable for AEW Dynamite taking place on Chris Jericho’s cruise and being taped the day before while NXT’s episode was aired live.

AEW Dynamite drew 871,000 viewers on TNT and a #8 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 769,000 viewers on USA Network and a #35 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that when only comparing the two hours both shows went head-to-head against each other, AEW Dynamite had 871,000 viewers while NXT had 758,000 viewers.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 906,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the remainder of the main event match of PAC vs. Jon Moxley which gained 79,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page interview segment and start of the PAC vs. Moxley match which lost 82,000 viewers.

NXT started off with around 768,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the remainder of the Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm match and post-match brawl which gained 70,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the majority of the NXT North American Championship match which lost 78,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 221,000 viewers to end the night.


Canadian Viewership for AEW & NXT Jan. 15th and Jan. 22nd Shows

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that neither AEW Dynamite nor WWE NXT ranked in the top ten for sports programming for January 15th and January 17th in Canada. The tenth ranked sports program drew 104,600 viewers on January 15th while it was not stated what the viewership for the tenth ranked sports program was on January 17th.

AEW Dynamite also reportedly did not rank in the top ten for sports programming in Canada for their January 22nd episode. Meltzer reported that the tenth rank sports program drew 74,800 on that night.
