Major League Wrestling announced that they have re-signed Jacob Fatu, the MLW World Heavyweight Champion, to a multi-year contract.
There had been interest in signing him from both WWE and AEW, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with both promotions believing that he has the potential to be a big star.
Fatu is part of the Anoaʻi family and is a first cousin of the Usos. His father is former WWE wrestler Sam Fatu, Rikishi’s twin brother.
As part of the deal, MLW will maintain control over Fatu’s independent bookings, according to PWInsider, including how he’s presented by other promotions, in order to protect his aura as a top star and world champion.
