More On The Future Of WWE SD!, ECW Tapings Tomorrow, More

Claiming economic hardship, NewsCorp announced that they have dropped the “network status” of MyNetworkTV, and will re-brand the channel with “hybrid programming.” What this means is that all original programming has been suspended, except for WWE Smackdown. MyNetworkTV will now run repeat material on Monday through Friday, and then will farm out weekend programming to local affiliates. MyNetworkTV launched in 2006 and was a way to fill the void when the WB and UPN networks merged. While the network never did very well in the overall ratings, they were improving with the addition of WWE Smackdown. As a result of the change, News Corp. will no longer consider MyNetworkTV a broadcast network alongside FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS and The CW. In light of the announcement, WWE quickly issued a press release tonight saying SmackDown “has a bright future” on MyNetworkTV. We posted the press releases earlier tonight.

James Morgan sent this in: NBCBayArea.com has a photo of So Cal Val dressed up as a nurse for the ComicCon in New York (Picture #5). After doing some digging, I found THIS site where she seems to be the spokes model for the business Armacham: FEAR AWAY (www.armacham.com). Note from Ryan Clark: This is actually a fake commercial/promotion being done for the new video game “F.E.A.R. 2” and also features TNA interviewer Lauren.

ECW was not taped prior to RAW tonight because the PPV is this weekend. They are only doing one SD! taping tomorrow night and will tape ECW prior to that tomorrow. The reason for taping one SD! tomorrow is obviously because if they taped two the second show would air AFTER the PPV which would make no sense. TNA is taping iMPACT! tonight and tomorrow for the next two weeks.

Manu released from WWE prior to RAW!!
