The NWA tapes this weekend for the NWA Wrestling Showcase series on the Dish Network’s Colours Network. Here is the press release on the event: NWA Wrestling Showcase Returns! Hollywood, CA (December 9, 2008) – NWA™ Wrestling Showcase joins NWA™ Championship Wrestling from Hollywood as a second offering from Big Vision Entertainment and the National Wrestling Alliance®. The first set of “Showcase” tapings will happen on December 20th and 21st from the Columbia Square Studios on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, CA. “The reason we’ve decided to bring back the Showcase name is to do just that, Showcase more talent from the NWA regional promotions. During the “Hollywood” tapings last month we found several talents that we believe have what it takes to up their game and with the “Showcase” it will allow us to develop these talents, and others we know are out there, for bigger things,” said Robert K. Trobich, Executive Director of the NWA. Tickets for this taping are available by calling 818-232-0770 or emailing tickets@nwawrestling.com.
ClickWrestle has posted a video of Cheerleader Melissa (a.k.a. TNA performer Raisha Saeed) unmasked and talking normal without her thick Rocky and Bullwinkle’s Natasha-like accent holding some sort of raffle drawing. You can see the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qG_x9EHZvI
The ending of last night’s ECW main event had to be edited due to a miscue on the part of Ricky Ortiz, reports ProWrestling.NET. He had to do the springboard off the top rope two times because he fell into the ring following the first attempt. Following the miscue, Jack Swagger got a two count for his finisher, then Ortiz tried the move again. Swagger blocked it, did his finisher, and pinned him.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON SITE NOTE: We got snow with a little sleet/freezing rain last night and this morning here in Albany. NY which is good news as far as site work and power outages are concerned. The power in the office is working fine this morning although there is a good 4 inches or more of sleet/ snow outside since last night at midnight. As noted yesterday, it doesn’t end here though as there is a major storm expected here Friday/Saturday and then AGAIN on Sunday/Monday. Usually we have no power problems in the office with only snow but when the freezing rain and ice comes, it can get dicey. Once again, we’ll be here as we are able to be. I will keep you posted on the latest but if there is no news once again for a day or so, that is the reason why. I’m just warning you ahead of time if anything happens. It’s been brutal here in Albany over the past month or so. Those pictures the other day did not do it justice with the amount of trees and power lines that were down everywhere you looked.
