As previously reported, the World of Sport Wrestling TV pilot, which was set to bring European wrestling back to TV, will not air on ITV. ITV has decided that wrestling no longer fits its broadcast plan. Jon Chapman has posted the episode online to drum up interest. In addition, World of Sport Wrestling also issued the following press release on the pilot after its YouTube release.

Great Britain’s Iconic World of Sport Wrestling Makes a Comeback on YouTube
Pilot owner John Chapman created the episode using a new generation of wrestlers but in the spirit of the original World of Sport Wrestling.
Hertfordshire, UK (PRWEB UK) 12 June 2015 — World of Sport Wrestling, an iconic British television series, is back with a pilot episode on YouTube.
World of Sport Wrestling broadcast from 1955 to 1985, and drew huge ratings with an average viewership of 8.5 million; at its peak an estimated audience of 18 million tuned in for the 1981 Big Daddy vs. Giant Haystacks match at Wembley. Other British wrestlers such as Mick McManus, Jackie “Mr TV” Pallo, Kendo Nagasaki, Les Kellett, and “Bomber” Pat Roach all became household names. So popular was World of Sport Wrestling that a 1968 event held at the Royal Albert Hall featured Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, as a guest of honour.
World of Sport Wrestling utilises a highly respected technical style drawn up by the late Admiral Lord Mountevans in the Committee Rooms of Great Britain’s Houses of Parliament.
Pilot owner John Chapman created the episode using a new generation of wrestlers but in the spirit of the original World of Sport Wrestling.
