Various News: Kanyon Obituary, WrestleMania, Swagger Edited, More

— As noted earlier here on the website, the backstage segment that aired on last week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown! involving newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, Slam Master J, Mickie James, Tony Atlas and Shelton Benjamin was heavily edited from how it was originally taped and played out in Las Vegas when they taped the show. The original script had the plan of Swagger walking around backstage with the title and asking James, Atlas and J if they saw what just happened. The response was slated to involve Shad turning on JTG. Swagger was then to walk away mad, confront Shelton Benjamin and Benjamin would ask if he still even worked here. The idea was that it got Swagger’s title reign off to a bad start so they re-filmed it.

Roy Sutherland sent this in: I’m not sure if any of you remember Bill Goldberg having a dead link World Heavyweight Title link on WWE.com for the longest time, but it’s back up now since there on good terms again.

— There is an obituary for Kanyon in the latest issue of Sports Illustrated.

— Phoenix Coyotes goalie Jason LaBarbera had a WrestleMania-inspired design on his goalie mask during last night’s game against the LA Kings.
