End of show
My Take: Weird opening with Eric Bischoff playing the guitar. The segment didn’t seem to be all that interesting until Jarrett hit Bischoff with the guitar, finally. The fans really liked that part, and so did I. It seemed like a rather good shot. Jarrett vs. Foley in a career match is a fine match, I guess. But, you can’t expect anything all that great from it.
Knockouts match was actually pretty decent. They seemed to try to get as much stuff as they could. Thus, it was rather a fast paced contest which is always a good thing. Daffney winning over Tara clearly means this is far from over. I must say, feuding over the spider is stupid. We have a powerful ring and a powerful spider? Whatever.
I liked the next segment with Hogan, Abyss, Flair, Styles, Dinero and Sting. It sets up Lethal Lockdown well and Dinero/Styles for the main event at Lockdown. A fine segment here.
Rob Terry squash appears to be a weekly thing. I have a feeling that Terry is going to be jammed down our throats. Well, he actually already kind of has been. Just because you are big, doesn’t make you good.
Thankfully, Foley lost the match. It was a fine brawl for what it was but it wasn’t anything all that great. I didn’t even know it was a no disqualification match until halfway through the contest when Tenay said it was. Way to go TNA. Anyway, Bischoff will still be messing around with Jarrett I sure. I’m thinking Bischoff is going to force Jarrett to be on Sting’s team for Lethal Lockdown.
Morgan/Hernandez match was a solid encounter I thought. You may think “that the injury thing with Hernandez was fake” but you would be surprised. A buddy of mine actually sent me a message wondering if he was actually hurt. People still fall for it. It sets up Morgan/Hernandez for Lockdown I would assume and it gives me a reason to want to see Hernandez get his revenge. I’d suspect that Russo is thinking of a tag title tournament to get new champions or something.
The main event was a very good match. I’d be willing to say that this weeks main event was the best Impact match since Hogan and Bischoff took over. Beer Money looked great and so did RVD and Hardy. If TNA needed to see whether or not Beer Money could be singles stars or if they had “it” they need to realize they can. I really hope we just witnessed a match between four guys who are either in the main event scene (RVD/Hardy) or will soon be in that scene (Beer Money). Wake up and realize that you have talent under the age of forty who can produce great matches and segments.
Eric Young coming into the ring after the match was just a way to tell the fans “Hey, Eric Young is cool too!” I would have to think. Personally, I would have just let RVD and Hardy close down the show. But, they announced the big main event for next week so it makes sense, I guess.
Overall, most of the show seemed to be lackluster to me. Once we got to Hernandez/Morgan segment it turned around for the better. The main event was a great way to end the show and personally may have been a show saver. If that match wasn’t the main event, this show would have been horrible in my opinion.
Next week, The Wolfpac take on RVD, Jeff Hardy and Eric Young. Also, Tara defends the TNA Knockouts Championship against Daffney in a first blood match!
Thanks for reading.
