“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”
The Authority Opens RAW
After a video highlight package of last week’s show, we shoot live inside the arena where we see the Hell In A Cell cage being lowered from the ceiling. From there, “King of Kings” hits as The Authority — Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kane, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins make their way to the ring.
Once in the ring, HHH welcomes us to Monday Night RAW, a night he ensures us will be an epic night that The Authority will be proud of. He talks about tonight’s handicap street fight with Orton, Rollins and Kane against John Cena and Dean Ambrose.
After bragging about winning more HIAC matches than anyone in history, HHH transitions to talk about what a dangerous type of match it is.
Rollins is up next on the mic. Before he can talk, the fans drown him out with “you sold out” chants. Rollins says he likes the “Mr Money In The Bank” nickname but he prefers, “Undisputed Future of the WWE” as his nickname.
Before he can continue, Orton takes the mic from Rollins and tells him that the true main event of this Sunday’s pay-per-view is two men who have been around longer than for a hot cup of coffee.
As Orton and Rollins continue to argue, HHH grabs the mic and says they’re both right, it will be a double main-event this Sunday. HHH tells Orton the winner of his match with Cena will receive an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Orton takes a cheap shot at the Kansas City Royals (RAW is in Kansas City tonight, obviously). The fans are stuck on that as HHH tries to talk, chanting “let’s go Royals.” HHH reminds us that The Authority always wins and that is best for business.
Sheamus & The Usos vs. Damien Mizdow, Goldust & Stardust (with The Miz)
After highlights of what went down with Sheamus, The Miz and Damien “Sheamus-Dow” on Main Event last week, Sheamus’ theme hits. The WWE United States Champion makes his way to the ring as Sheamus-Miz is confirmed by the announcers on commentary. We head to commercial.
When we return from the break, The Usos make their way to the ring. A split-screen interview is shown from earlier in the day of The Usos talking about Hell In A Cell as they make their way to the ring live in the arena.
From there, the WWE Tag-Team Champions, Goldust and Stardust, make their way to the ring, in creepy fashion as usual. Their partner for this six-man tag-team match, The Miz (accompanied by Damien Mizdow) makes his way to the ring next.
Before the match can begin, however, Miz tells Mizdow “you’re in.” Mizdow obliges, and now he’s apparently the third member of the heel team. Kicking things off for their teams are Stardust and Uso. Uso gets an early offensive advantage as The Miz joins Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler on commentary. The heels take control of the action seconds later, as we quickly head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from the break, we see Mizdow tag in to a huge pop from the crowd. In the end, Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick on Stardust, however Stardust catches the kick, allowing Mizdow roll Sheamus up from behind for the 1-2-3. After the victory, Miz flips out on commentary shouting, “I won!” even though his “stunt duoble” technically did. After the match, we head to a break.
Winners: Damien Mizdow, Goldust & Stardust
Backstage: Triple H & Randy Orton
We’re back from commercial and we see Triple H backstage as Randy Orton approaches him. He tells HHH he’s going to make him proud, beat Cena and be the guy to take the title from Lesnar. HHH tells Orton that it was actually Rollins’ idea. Orton looks confused. He says he’s going to go find Rollins and personally thank him. He walks off.
Wyatt Family Vignette
Another odd Wyatt Family vignette airs, this time a new one. We see clips in the woods, etc. In the beginning we hear, “we found him” and near the end we hear “we found him,” referring to Erick Rowan. Bray says he used to be free but “she came to me.” He says “she” told him he’s special and that he’ll never truly be alone. The vignette concludes with Bray rocking in his rocking chair and then he says, “it’s coming” as we see smoke at his feet and rise. Then he mumbles something, the screen goes dark, and when the lights return, the rocking chair is empty. Hard to describe, but it’s pretty much what we’ve seen in these vignettes the past few weeks. Cool stuff though, for sure.
AJ Lee vs. Alicia Fox (with Paige)
From there, the WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee skips her way to the ring. She’ll be in action next. On that note, we head to another commercial break.
When we return from the break, Alicia Fox is in the middle of the ring finishing up her entrance. With her, at ringside, is Paige.
Before the match starts, we see highlights of AJ Lee and Alicia Fox cat-fighting on SmackDown until Paige interferes and hits the Paige-Turner on Lee, before celebrating with Fox.
The bell rings back live on RAW and here we go with Divas action. The fans jump on AJ’s case already with light “CM Punk” chants as Fox takes the offensive lead early on.
The finish is this one sees a distraction as AJ Lee is caught off guard by actions going on outside the ring with Paige, only to be rolled up from behind by Fox in the ring for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Alicia Fox
Backstage: Randy Orton & Seth Rollins
Backstage, Orton approaches Rollins. Orton thanks Rollins but questions why he did it. Rollins says he’s part of The Authority so he’s a team player. Orton says thanks, but no thanks, he doesn’t want his help, he works alone. Rollins says if by some miracle, which is what it will take for Orton to be Cena, he might become champion and then the future will take care of itself, as Rollins points to the Money In The Bank briefcase. We head to commercial.
In-Ring Segment: Randy Orton, John Cena & Paul Heyman
When we return from commercial, Orton’s theme hits and “The Viper” makes his way to the ring. He takes us on a stroll down memory lane, telling the history of his multi-year feud with John Cena.
The fans are cheering something. It almost sounds like they’re cheering him (I could be wrong), but he takes another dig at the Kansas City Royals, and now he’s getting the heat he wants.
Orton says there was Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and The Rock and this generation it’s been John Cena and Randy Orton, and when it’s all said and done, Orton will come out on top.
“The Viper” promises he’s going to beat Cena this Sunday at Hell In A Cell and then go on to beat “The Beast Incar….”
Before he can finish, John Cena’s theme song hits and out he comes. Cena starts by telling Orton to “shut up.” Cena goes from serious to funny. Well, his version of funny. Kids are probably laughing, but that’s about it.
Cena draws comparisons from Orton to the Kansas City Royals. He says in 2002 the Royals lost 100 baseball games, and that’s the same time Orton was last relevant. He says this year the Royals have a chance at winning the World Series.
Orton says being in the World Series and winning it are two different things. Cena says he’s right. Orton is in the Hell In A Cell this Sunday, but he’s not going to win it. Cena says nothing is going to stop him from getting another shot at the beast. “This Sunday, you go face-to-face with the man who runs the place, and hell is coming with me,” concludes Cena.
Before anything else can happen we hear, “ladies and gentlemen.”
You guessed it. Out comes Paul Heyman. He calls Cena and Orton laughable. He brings back up their point that in 2002 there was Cena and Orton, but reminds them there was also a guy — who he signed — named Brock Lesnar. He continues to put over how Lesnar was the man in 2002 just like he’s the man today in 2014.
Heyman says the Cena-Orton winner is not only fighting to see who the better man between those two are, the winner has the unfortunate task of fighting his beast, Brock Lesnar. Heyman tells Orton he respects him, but he doesn’t want any part of the beast. As Cena goes to leave, Heyman stops him and talks some more trash, reminding him what Lesnar did to him in the past.
Cena heard enough and hoists Heyman up for an A.A. Before he can, Orton blasts Cena with an RKO and yells at him, “who’s stupid now,” as he’s laid out on the ground. Heyman is smiling and looking pleased as what Orton just did. As Heyman turns to leave, Orton hits Heyman with an RKO as well. Orton throws Cena’s hat in the crowd and yells at the fans as his music plays while both Cena and Heyman are laid out in the middle of the ring.
Rusev (with Lana) vs. Big E.
After replays of last week’s happenings with Rusev, Big Show and Mark Henry, Rusev makes his way to the ring with Lana by his side. Tonight, “The Bulgarian Brute” goes one-on-one with Big E. During the entrances, we head to commercial.
We’re back from the break, the bell rings and here we go. Early on, Rusev is in control. Big E. has his moments, but they don’t last long, as Rusev quickly continues to dominate the bodybuilder. As Rusev remains in firm control of the action, we head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from commercial, it looks like we’re in the middle of a Big E. comeback. I spoke too soon. Big E. walks into a Rusev superkick literally seconds later. From there, Rusev immediately locks him in The Accolade. Big E. fights it for a while but eventually has no choice but to tap out. Rusev wins again.
Winner: Rusev (with Lana)
Rusev Attacks American Soldier
Lana gets on the mic and talks about how Big Show should be in a circus. She promises everyone that Big Show will let his country down. Rusev takes the mic and says basically the same thing, talking about how Big Show is going to lose this Sunday. Lana asks everyone to rise for the national anthem.
The flag was supposed to drop from the ceiling, but doesn’t. The music stops and we see Big Show on the titan tron. He pauses for a second and then a big “boom!” hits. The U.S. flag drops from the ceiling as an American anthem plays as Rusev and Lana freak out. Rusev grabs the flag and acts like he’s going to tear it down. Before he does, a random U.S. soldier jumps into the ring. Rusev super kicks him and he and Lana run off as we see medics attending to the fallen solider. We head to commercial break on that note.
Backstage: Dean Ambrose & John Cena
When we return from the commercial, we see Dean Ambrose watching Kane in the new WWE Studios film, “See No Evil 2” as John Cena enters. Ambrose says he’s getting ready for their match. They’re all about truth, justice and the American way and compares them to Batman and Superman and he likes to beat up scumbags and he’s been known to wear a cape. Cena says they have three guys looking to take them out and Ambrose tells Cena to relax he’s got a plan. They just throw punches at anything that moves. Cena says he likes it and says the whole Batman thing doesn’t fit Ambrose he’s more like The Joker. Cena leaves. Ambrose wonders to himself why Cena is acting so serious.
Summer Rae vs. Brie Bella
Now it’s time for some more Divas action. Early on, Summer Rae dominates the action. Eventually, Brie with kicks to Summer’s legs and the crowd erups into chants of “Yes” as Nikki looks on from the backstage area. Armlock on Brie as Summer mocks Brie yelling “Yes”. Cover by Summer and Summer back to the armlock. Overhead armdrag by Brie. The crowd getting behind Brie as she unloads on Summer. Brie goes into “Brie-Mode” but Summer goes for the cover again but only gets a 2 count. Summer showing frustration as Brie whips her into the corner. Brie hits a dropkick off the middle rope for the 1-2-3. Nikki looks on from backstage, seeming worried that she’s next at Hell In A Cell this Sunday night.
Winner: Brie Bella
In-Ring Segment: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Mick Foley
Backstage, we see Dean Ambrose heading to the ring carrying some stuff with him. We head to commercial.
We’re back from the break and we see Ambrose coming to the ring with all of that stuff he was carrying backstage. He brings out a doll that’s supposed to be Seth Rollins. He proceeds to beat the crap out of that dummy, including with a hammer.
Ambrose then says he had a dream of something he’s going to do to Rollins and that’s chop off his testicles but that won’t do since Rollins sold his soul to The Authority. Rollins comes out and congratulates Ambrose on finding an opponent he can relate to, basically saying he’s about as smart as the dummy he’s beating on.
The Kansas City fans jump on Rollins’ case again with “you sold out” chants. Rollins tells them that they’re right he sold out but it stings coming from the WWE Universe because just like the crowd he grew up in the midwest but that is where the similarities begin and end because he knew he was destined to become more than a midwestern piece of trailer trash.
Ambrose talks about how the fans have their main event but he’s got no problem giving the people a preview of it right now. As Rollins goes to respond, he’s interrupted by a car crash. Yup, you guessed it!
Out comes Mick Foley! The fans begin a loud “Foley! Foley!” chant as he makes his way to the ring. Mick talks about how he just came to visit an old friend, as he looks up at the Hell In A Cell cage hanging above the ring. He says he may not be on our screens every week, but he always watches RAW and Smackdown and envisioned Rollins going one on one with Ambrose and as much as he likes Ambrose he envisioned Rollins coming out on top.
Rollins insults Foley a bit, which leads to Foley saying Ambrose wants to rip Rollins apart and Hell In A Cell gives him the perfect tool to do exactly that. He says he’s going to take them on a trip back many years ago to his infamous match against Undertaker and says the scars they will get are scars that will not heal. The fans break out into a “Thank you Foley” chant.
Dean Ambrose talks about how he lost his innocence a long time ago and he’s not worried about adding more psychological scars and no one understands him backstage but Foley — if anyone — just might “get” him and knows that he’s ready for Hell In A Cell this Sunday.
“Mr. Money In The Bank” says Foley and Ambrose are both crazy and if that’s what they think is going to win them Hell In A Cell, they’re out of their minds.Foley quotes Nietschze, saying he’s never fallen off the top of a cell. Foley cheap plugs the Royals possibly winning the World Series and brings it back to WWE by saying this Sunday, Ambrose and Rollins get what they’ve been waiting for their whole lives.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro
Before we head to the break after that awesome Ambrose-Rollins-Foley segment, we see both Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro backstage making their way to the ring.
When we return from commercial, it’s time for more one-on-one action here on RAW. The bell rings and here we go. The action is fast paced start as Cesaro gets Ziggler in a side headlock. Shoulderblock to Ziggler and Cesaro with an elbow drop. Side headlock on Ziggler. Ziggler gets to his feet and Cesaro with a straight right hand, Ziggler clotheslines Cesaro over the top rope. Otuside, the barricade comes into play. Cesaro thrown back into the ring.
As the action continues, Ziggler seems to be in control. Out of nowhere, Ziggler goes for his finisher, however, Cesaro blocks the Fame-asser and they trade pin attempts. Ziggler runs into an elbow. Cesaro goes for the double underhook but Ziggler reverses into a facebuster for a near fall. After some more back-and-forth action, Cesaro nails a big European uppercut as Ziggler makes his way down. 1-2-3. Cesaro wins. After the match, Cesaro isn’t satisfied, so he hits the Neutralizer on the I-C champ and leaves him laid out in the ring.
Winner: Cesaro
Backstage: Triple H, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton & Kane
Backstage, we see Triple H talking with Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane. All the guys are arguing, resulting in HHH telling everyone that Kane is the ring general tonight. Orton and Rollins don’t like that, but Kane raises his vioce and tells them that tonight it’s time to give Ambrose and Cena a taste of hell. They all walk off. After that, we head to another commercial break.
Wyatt Family Vignette #2
Another Wyatt Family vignette airs. I couldn’t really tell, but I could swear it was the exact same one that aired earlier tonight. Erick Rowan is set free. Bray Wyatt talks about this and that. Basically, read the description from earlier in this report about the Wyatt Family vignette, and that’s pretty much what you’ve got in this one.
John Cena & Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins, Randy Orton & Kane
Now, it’s time for our Handicap Street Fight match. With that said, John Cena makes his way to the ring to his usual mixed bag reaction. Out next is his partner for the second week in a row, Dean Ambrose. As the two settle into the ring, we head to a commercial break. The announcers inform us that tonight’s handicap street fight main event is up next. We head to break.
When we return from commercial, Kane is first to make his entrance. His partners follow and now all five men are in the ring. It’s time for this week’s main event.
The bell rings and here we go! It’s a handicap street fight main event on the WWE Hell In A Cell “go-home” edition of RAW. The “let’s go Cena” and “Cena sucks” dueling chants break out almost immediately, as the action spills out to the floor.
All of the guys are battling back-and-forth on the floor until out of nowhere, Ambrose comes flying off the top rope, crashing on all of the other guys, taking everyone out, including his own partner.
Back in the ring, Ambrose, with a chair, swings it and nails Rollins across the back. Now Ambrose is going under the ring looking for — as JBL calls them — toys. The fans chant “We want tables” as he’s looking and wouldn’t you know it, Ambrose pulls out a table. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from commercial, order has been restored apparently, as it’s just Rollins and Ambrose in the ring by themselves, with Rollins fully in control of his former Shield partner.
Rollins tags in Orton and before Orton resumes action, he and Rollins stop, pause and slowly stare at each other as the trade spots. Orton hits one slam and then tags Rollins back in, with pretty much the same scenario playing out. The announcers, meanwhile, are playing up the tension between Orton and Rollins.
All hell breaks loose, no pun intended, as all five guys are fighting all over the place, both inside and outside of the ring. There’s chairs, kendo sticks, you name it. It’s getting crazy here in tonight’s RAW main event.
Finally, the Hell In A Cell cage starts getting lowered down, covering the outside of the ring as if this were an actual Hell In A Cell match. The only guys in the actual ring right now are Ambrose and Orton. Ambrose is beating down Orton with a kendo stick and then a chair.
The “This is awesome” chants break out as Orton finally starts fighting his way back. The other guys are entering the picture now as we’ve seen Dirty Deeds from Ambrose, a chokeslam from Kane, but culminating in an RKO from Orton to Ambrose for the 1-2-3. The heels win.
Winners: Seth Rollins, Randy Orton & Kane
After the match, immediately after the pin, Rollins runs over and hits a Curb Stomp on Orton. Rollins afterward can be overheard saying, “I run things aruond here!” Rollins climbs up to the top of the Hell In A Cell cage and raises his hands in victory, celebrating what he just did. The announcers do their final hard sell for Sunday’s WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, as we head off the air. That’ll do it for this week’s show!
