According to sources, here is the latest on the TNA TV situation. At this time, it appears “all but official” that TNA and Spike TV will part ways at the end of 2014. At this time, TNA is in talks with up to four different networks in regards to a possible TV deal. One of those networks being the previously mentioned VELOCITY Network, and another being WGN America. The potential WGN America deal would include possible pre-emptions of Impact. It is also being reported that the other two unnamed networks could be more significant potential deals than both VELOCITY or WGN.
TNA is taping several episodes of iMPACT! later this month, and then holds Bound for Glory on October 12th. The company has cut back on live events, and also talent contracts. Several talents deals are now pay per appearance with no downside guaranteed money, and there is said to be a freeze on pretty much every aspect of the business until their TV future is secured. This is because they have no clue how much money (from TV rights fees) they will be working with come January.
There is no word on how this will work with Bully Ray, whose TNA deal has expired. Ray is scheduled to go into the TNA Hall of Fame at Bound for Glory (along with Devon) and was part of a series of tag team matches with The Hardys and the Wolves. That series was unfinished when his contract expired. Bully was looking for a new long-term deal, but with TNA cutting costs right now, his future with the company is unknown at this time.
