— Broadcasting Cable has a story about WWE upgrading their production facilities in Stamford, Connecticut.
WWE added a Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Console. This will make the foreign language broadcasts better.
— As noted late last night here on the website, WWE’s recent Japan tour was reportedly not as successful as originally thought. WWE previously announced that the attendance figures for the two shows at Sumo Hall were 6,176 and over 12,000. The Sumo Hall, per a source, only has a max capacity of 11,066. WWE also said the Osaka event drew an attendance of 6,048 people.
However, a source notes that the actual attendance totals for the respective shows were closer to 5,000, 11,000 and 5,000. That includes the attendances for the latter two shows which featured Hulk Hogan. The shows in Japan were heavily papered, which is not unusual for wrestling shows in the country.
WWE’s business website, which is for stockholders and investors, released that the three live events in Japan drew a combined attendance of about 14,000 paid fans in attendance. This figure is just over half of what WWE previously announced.
A new report goes on to list what the actual paid attendance figures were closer to: about 3,670 paid for the first Sumo Hall event; 7,140 paid for the second show; and about 3,600 paid for the Osaka live event.
These figures are reportedly lower than what some smaller Japanese-based wrestling promotions do in the same venues and about half of what New Japan typically draws.
