— Former WWE star Trent Baretta suffered a patellar tendon injury during a weekend event for Beyond Wrestling. According to fans in attendance, Baretta’s knee gave out while he was running the ropes. No word on how long he’ll be out but it appears that he may need surgery. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
— We noted earlier here on the website that as of Sunday evening, the script for Monday’s WWE RAW broadcast included the following:
* Chris Jericho vs. Luke Harper
* A Miz TV segment with Bo Dallas
* Build for Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam
* John Cena interview reacting to his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam
Of course, two out of the four things listed above didn’t happen due to major creative re-writes on Monday. Surprised?! We’re going to have more on this shortly but one source notes that “almost the entire show from top to bottom was re-written” during the afternoon and evening hours prior to RAW. Several talents even filmed backstage promo segments and they ended up being scrapped and didn’t air. For what it’s worth, there are many people in creative and production who are becoming increasingly frustrated as of late as there have been more creative re-writes than in the past. It’s turning into a weekly thing and several top production people are frustrated but there isn’t much they can do if they want to keep their jobs …. especially now with the ongoing budget cuts.
