Nick Khan Comments on “It’s a Mistake to Respond to Your Business’ Based Off Social Media”
Wednesday’s National Association of Broadcasters event in Las Vegas, Nevada featured WWE president Nick Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about the effect and influence of social media on the WWE product.
“A small percentage of voices who have a big microphone or megaphone in front of them. It’s a mistake to respond to your business based off of that. You’ve got to base it off your gut and the results.”
Khan also gave his thoughts about how WWE programs for all 50 states and the world so that their shows would appeal to everybody.
“What do people like? They like dramas. They like conflict. They like to see conflict being resolved one way or another. As Paul mentioned, in our business, you get to knock each other out in a 20×20 ring. People like that too. So for us, we want to appeal to everybody.”
An excellent wide ranging conversation on the @WWE’s business with @TripleH and Nick Khan. Here they are discussing their programming approach and the importance of connecting with families. More covered in the article below.https://t.co/lzYpoSb6go pic.twitter.com/LIN27AQd8A

Gunther Comments on Triple H “Saved Wrestling” to Big Degree
A recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show featured current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Gunther’s thoughts about working with WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and his belief that Levesque had “saved wrestling” to a big degree.
“I would say, to a degree, and obviously he’s my boss and I’m in a very good position in the company right now, but I think to a certain degree that he saved professional wrestling to a big degree. I remember when I started in 2005. All the Europeans trying to get into WWE was such a mystery about it. Who to talk to and what to do. It seemed so far away and such an unrealistic point to achieve. Hunter was the one who pushed for opening that world to WWE and created so much jobs and opportunities back then for so many of the European guys. He opened the floodgates for the wrestling world outside of WWE, and I think the change has been very positive. It was a big achievement. The business changed since then and it changed to the better. It’s the hottest that it is right now. It all started back then when he started NXT and started working more with guys the work the indies and stuff like that. I’ve always had a really good relationship with Hunter.”

She deserves this on her own merit, her own career, even before LayCool was even a factor so for me, I’m gonna be there. It’s huge for me because I want to celebrate my best friend. I wanna sit there, I wanna enjoy her getting her moment. I feel LayCool came after and anything associated with Michelle, I know I’m gonna be associated with her, with LayCool always. Always. That (will) always be something that her and I share a bond that we’ll always be together till the day we die. But, to me, I won’t be like, oh, yes! Michelle’s my partner. It’s my accomplishment. I can’t do that. It’s just her accomplishment. This is on her own standing, her own merit and I’m just 100 percent proud of her, here to support her and show her love.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with the WWE RAW Recap podcast, Big E gave his thoughts about Kofi Kingston recently erasing him from his KofiMania anniversary celebration post on Twitter. Big E stated “Look, I know it’s been their duty to try to erase me from their history and that again, is their God given right to do as they choose. But people know I was there. There is no New Day without me. Honestly, if we look at the trajectory of the New Day since I’ve been gone. Let’s count the number of titles, it’s been a little lacking. Let’s count the number of main events, also been a little lacking. Let’s look at what has happened since my departure. It has not been, we talk about all the titles won, greatest tag team of all time, all these things, all these accolades. These things were all done when I was around, and that speaks for itself. But look, KofiMania was obviously a very, very special moment to a lot of people. I can never take it away from Kofi, that is something that he earned. The time he put in this company before I even arrived is remarkable. He was there, the singles match with Daniel Bryan was something people will often remember. So I can’t claim that, I can’t take anything away from that moment. But look, I was there, I was a part of it. Well, I don’t know when we talk about the rise of KofiMania and that gauntlet tag match that we had with the Usos come out and forfeit. If you try to erase me, tell me how that happened. Was it a handicap match now? Is that what you’re saying? So anyways, look, I know my place in history. I’m very comfortable with what I’ve done in my career, and all the rest is just discourse.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
