Kevin Owens Comments on Conversation of Night One of WrestleMania Not Being True Main Event Until CM Punk Being in It This Year
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured Kevin Owens as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Owens’ thoughts about the conversations from fans and others about Night One of WrestleMania not being considered as a true main event and that only changed due to CM Punk being in it for this year’s show.
“I’m very lucky to have been a part of it (Steve Austin’s return match). To this day, the craziest thing that I’ll ever have done in my career and I don’t think anything will top it. Even me and Sami (Zayn) winning the tag titles at WrestleMania was unbelievable, in the main event. Which is great now because you know, WrestleMania main event night one, there’s a lot of people that argue it’s not really the main event. But now that (CM) Punk’s in it this year, everyone says it is the main event, because you don’t want to take that away from him so now it finally validates that yeah, we’ve main evented WrestleMania. So, anyway, winning the titles at WrestleMania together was insane.”

Decades of hard work, memories, and friendships have paved the way to this moment. We thank @wwe and all of Ivan’s fans for this opportunity and absolute honor.
We hope to continue his legacy and keep his memories alive for generations to come.”
The family of the late James “Kamala” Harris also recently reflected on Facebook about Kamala’s Legacy induction into WWE’s Hall of Fame.
“From The Family of James “Kamala” Harris
On behalf of our family, we want to extend our deepest thanks to WWE for the incredible honor of inducting James Harris, known and loved around the world as Kamala “The Ugandan Giant,” into the WWE Hall of Fame.
James’ story is one of strength, resilience, and perseverance. Growing up in poverty after losing his father at a young age, James worked as a sharecropper to help support his family. It was through sheer determination that he carved out a path to greatness.
Kamala shared the ring with some of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling-Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Sgt. Slaughter, Randy Orton, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Bam Bam Bigelow, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, The Ultimate Warrior, Jerry Lawler, The Von Erich Family, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Magnum TA, Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant, just to name a few. These names remind us not only of wrestling’s golden era -but of Kamala’s rightful place among its legends.
Though his later years were marked by hardship, health challenges, and heartbreak-through it all, his faith in Jesus Christ remained a constant source of strength. We know James would be overwhelmed with joy to be welcomed back into the WWE family-a place where he always felt at home.
To the fans, to WWE, to 16 Creative, and to every friend and family member who has never stopped believing in his legacy-thank you. Your love, support, and tireless efforts made this moment possible.
Because of you, Kamala’s legacy will forever be etched into the history of professional wrestling.
Welcome home, Kamala.

As noted before, Drew McIntyre suffered an eye injury following a brawl segment with Damien Priest during the March 28th episode of WWE SmackDown in London, England. McIntyre was slammed onto a car windshield smashing it in the process and and claimed that he got broken glass in his eye. In a recent interview with the It’s Called Soccer! podcast, McIntyre gave his thoughts about how he was not meant to get broken glass in his eye from the broken windshield spot. McIntyre stated “Part of the glass, where I landed on the windshield, bounced up and landed directly in my eyeball. I’m currently sporting the patch, hoping I can figure this thing out and get myself on WrestleMania. It’s a fight against time right now. It didn’t feel that bad. I’ve never landed on a windshield in my life. He probably should’ve thrown me on top of the car or the concrete to hurt more. I’ve never landed on a windshield, but the glass is designed to spider out. I was wearing a leather jacket so thankfully I didn’t get all cut up. The fall wasn’t great, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Some debris came up in the air and landed straight in my eye, so I’m dealing with that right now. The eye thing wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m not supposed to be sitting here right now with an eyepatch on, yet, I am.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
