WWE: Chelsea Green on Original Plans to Win Women’s U.S. Title at Survivor Series 2024, Giulia Injury Update, Bret Hart on His WrestleMania 13 Match Being Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

Chelsea Green Comments on WWE Originally Planned for Her to Win Women’s U.S. Title at Survivor Series 2024

This past December’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Long Island, New York featured Chelsea Green defeating Michin in the Finals of the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament.

A recent episode of the Click And Tell podcast featured Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green’s thoughts about WWE’s original plans were for her to win the title at this past November’s Survivor Series WarGames 2024 event in Vancouver, Canada.

“Well, okay, so it was in Long Island, and the best part of it being in Long Island, originally, this is a little tea spilling, originally it was supposed to be in Vancouver. That was obviously going to be I mean, for so many different reasons, the biggest moment of my career. It was already going to be the biggest moment, but to have my friends and family there and for it to be in somewhat of my hometown, close enough to my hometown, like that’s unheard of. People don’t get those moments. So when it was taken away from me, I was heartbroken. I still had all my friends and family at Survivor Series, but I wasn’t on the show. So it was really a moment of just like… Like, how? It put a little bit of a damper on it until I found out it was gonna be in Long Island. That is my husband’s hometown. So if it couldn’t be in my hometown, at least it’s in Long Island, it’s with all of my in-laws. Everyone in my family ended up flying there anyway, and it was just like the perfect moment. The crowd was amazing. They were chanting my name the entire time from start to finish. I was able to have all my family come back and take pictures with it. I had Netflix with me. It was just, it was seriously like, it was a moment that a wrestler would dream of.”

Bret Hart Comments on His WrestleMania 13 Match with Steve Austin Being Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

As noted before, WWE recently announced the No Disqualification Submission match of Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart from WrestleMania 13 will be inducted into their Hall of Fame as part of this year’s class for the inaugural “WWE Immortal Moment” category for inductions.

A recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show featured WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Hart’s thoughts about his WrestleMania 13 match with Austin being inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame.

“It’s a big honor. I’m really quite proud of that, especially that match and the work that I had with Steve Austin. If you asked me in truth if I thought there was a better match somewhere, I mean, I don’t think there’s been a better match. It was just magic what we did that night.”

Hart also gave his thoughts about if his match with Austin is at the top of his list for his favorite matches from his wrestling career.

“It’s been at the top probably since I had it. I have my all-time favorites. I think the match I had with the Bulldog at Wembley was probably my first greatest match, in the sense that it was the first one that I wasn’t in a team, it was just me by myself going out there and putting that match together. And that was a beautiful match. And the Ironman match with Shawn Michaels—I mean, you could say what you want about our relationship—the truth is that it’s hard to top that match.

It was, to me, the highest level of professionalism that you can get in a professional wrestling match. We both really worked really hard, took a lot of hard falls, large hits with the chair and stuff like that. But we also really protected each other and looked out for each other. And when they told me they were going to induct that match, it was like, well, they should, it was maybe the best match ever.”
