Big E Responds to Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s Joke About His Broken Neck on 4/7 RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured controversial comedian Tony Hinchcliffe making a surprise guest commentary appearance for the WWE World Tag Team Championship match between New Day and the War Raiders. During the match, Hinchcliffe made a joke saying that the only thing thing stiffer than Michael Cole was Big E’s neck. This quickly led to online negative backlash towards Hinchcliffe over his poor taste joke mocking Big E’s broken neck injury.

A recent episode of WWE’s RAW Recap podcast featured Big E as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Big E’s thoughts about Hinchcliffe’s joke about his broken neck and revealed that he did not sign off nor was aware beforehand of Hinchcliffe’s joke for the show.

“I guess, at my big age of 39 years old, people will say what they want about you. Their opinion of you is not — has nothing to do with me. It’s not my business,” Big E said. “Look, say what you want, he was given a mic, he was given an opportunity. People will feel how they want to. It’s just, you know, there’s a lot of discourse, often times as a public figure people will say things about you. Whether they’re jokes, whether they’re not. And that is their right. I think the one thing is — and I get like, I’m on here, it was said on the show, I’m supposed to talk. You know, especially when things are mentioned about me, I should have an opinion on them. It’s just — it is tiring to have to weigh in on everyone’s opinion or whatever they say.

Look, I’m not hurt. I’m good. I want the discourse to be had without me, honestly. I really have no desire to weigh in on this. I didn’t sign up for this. I wasn’t aware of this. He did what he wanted to. People signed off on it. Has nothing to do with me, truly.”

Lex Luger Comments on Not Hearing Back Yet About Sting Inducting Him Into WWE Hall of Fame

As noted before, Lex Luger recently informed WWE officials that he would like Sting to induct him into their Hall of Fame for this year’s ceremony.

A recent episode of Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast featured Luger as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Luger’s thoughts about the potential of having Sting and Diamond Dallas Page on stage with him for his WWE Hall of Fame induction and if he has heard anything back regarding Sting’s status for the show.

“I ran it by WWE guys, Triple H’s right-hand man. He goes, ‘I know what you’re going to ask. I’ll have to run that up the flagpole, but man, I don’t know.’ And I haven’t had an answer back on that, but obviously, maybe selfishly—somewhat selfishly—I think it’d be great for the fans too.

WWE may allow him up there, but he would also have to have permission from Tony Khan and AEW. So there’s a lot of moving parts there. But ideally, obviously, I would love to see both those guys up there with me. That would be huge for me and I think it’d be special for the fans too.”

Ricky Saints Comments on His WWE NXT Debut Being Very Quick Process

The Ringer held a recent interview with NXT talent Ricky Saints, former Ricky Starks in AEW. One of the topics discussed included Saints’ thoughts about the very quick process from him AEW release to his WWE debut appearance on the February 11th episode of NXT.

“It was a very quick turnaround. People think that was days in advance. I had never spoken to WWE at all before any of that. I never got on the phone with anyone before that, blah, blah, blah. So all of that, when I say it happened so fast, it happened so fast and it never let up off the gas.”

Saints also stated that his friends Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Allie Katch, and some people within AEW had texted to congratulate him after his NXT debut appearance.
