Naomi vs. Jade Cargill, Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight for US Title, and WWE Women’s Tag Titles Matches Set for WWE WrestleMania 41, Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton Match Pulled Due to Injury

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show at the Allstate Arena featured three new matches announced and one pulled match for the card of WrestleMania 41, which takes place on April 19-20 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first new match announced was a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match of winner of Women’s Tag Team Gauntlet vs. Judgement Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan) (c).

This match was setup following an announcement by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis who stated that he worked with RAW GM Adam Pearce to put together a Women’s Tag Team Gauntlet match for next week’s show. Aldis stated that the winner of that match will face Rodriguez & Morgan for the Women’s Tag titles at WrestleMania 41.

The second new match announced was a singles match of Naomi vs. Jade Cargill.

This match was setup over recent weeks shows over Naomi being revealed to have been Cargill’s mystery attacker and the bad blood issues between the two. During tonight’s show, Cargill attacked Naomi before the start of her match against B-Fab. Following Naomi’s victory over B-Fab, Naomi called out Cargill leading to another brawl between the two as security rushed out to break it up to no avail. This led to SmackDown GM Aldis coming out and officially announcing that Naomi and Cargill will face off against each other at WrestleMania 41.

The third new match announced was a WWE United States Championship match of Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight (c).

This match was setup following Fatu defeating Braun Strowman in a #1 Contender Last Man Standing match for the WWE United States title.

In regards to the pulled match, it was announced that the Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton match has been pulled from the event.

During the show, Aldis was seen in the ring and stated that he had some bad news to give and let this person give the news. This led to Owens coming out to the ring and revealed that he has been dealing with a serious neck injury and will need to undergo surgery. Owens stated that as a result, he will not be able to compete at Mania and his match against Orton is off.
