More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for April 2nd
The April 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffered a large decline in overall viewership and a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 594,000 viewers and a 0.16 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #10 place.
Key demographic ratings breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter issue. Dave Meltzer reported that the reason was due to a glitch at Nielsen causing the cable ratings numbers release for that day to be delayed until Friday, April 4th and after the publication for this week’s issue.
Dave Meltzer reported in a special edition for next week’s issue that the main reasons for AEW’s declines this week was due to a combination of cable television viewership in general was mostly down that day, the lower than usual lead-in viewership, the large decline from their Over 50 demographic viewership group which its percentage was not given, and their key demographic viewership being down 7.3% compared to last week’s show. Of AEW’s key demographic viewership decrease, their younger male key demographic viewership group was down 20.8% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the increase from their younger female key demographic viewership group, which was up 12.5% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known. AEW’s lead-in programming Big Bang Theory reportedly drew 775,000 viewers and a 0.11 rating.

Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 72.1% in favor of males.

Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 28.6% compared to the same week last year.
