Triple H Comments on “If Women Are in the Main Event, It’s Because They Earned It” for WWE Shows

Friday’s Sloan Sports Analytics Conference 2025 event in Boston, Massachusetts featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about women main eventing WWE shows and him putting no thought when it comes to a talent being a man or woman nor only giving women main event spots to make the company look good.

“I put no thought into ‘it’s women or it’s men.’ I don’t give them the main event because ‘Well, they’re women and it would look good for us if we give them the main event.’ That never even enters my mind. Talent are talent and it’s whoever is resonating the most. If they’re in the main event, it’s because they earned it. If they’re not, it’s because someone else was slightly ahead of them.”

Levesque also stated that he feels that Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and other female wrestlers will be seen in the same way that Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, The Rock, and Steve Austin are but it will take time to get there.

Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – Janel Grant Files Response to McMahon, John Laurinaitis, & WWE Motions Opposing Amended Lawsuit

As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January of 2024 against former TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Besides McMahon, WWE and former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis were also named defendants in the lawsuit. Grant filed a new amended lawsuit this past February detailing new evidence and claims against McMahon, Laurinaitis, WWE, and others.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Grant filed her official response earlier today to McMahon, Laurinaitis, and WWE’s motion opposing her amended lawsuit before the United States District Court of Connecticut.

In the filing, Grant’s attorneys argued for the new amended lawsuit to go forward and its purpose to “inform the Court of material factual developments that occurred during the stay—including, among other things, the Securities and Exchange Commission’s finding that McMahon engaged in a scheme to cover up his misdeeds and mislead shareholders, with the NDA at issue here being central to that scheme. These are all valid reasons for Plaintiff to amend her pleading under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and the resumption of this case is an appropriate time to do so.”

Grant’s attorneys also stated that her new amended complaint “incorporates key factual developments unavailable when she filed her initial complaint, sheds further light on the illegal and coercive non-disclosure agreement Defendants seek to enforce to keep her out of court, and pleads her claims with greater specificity.”

Grant’s attorneys also disputed McMahon’s claims that he has been “prejudiced” by the amended complaint and his argument of Grant has “exploited the courts and the media to publicize a false narrative and information contractually required to remain confidential” does not hold up to scrutiny.

Grant’s attorneys also disputed the complaints by McMahon and his legal team that the amended complaint was filed too late and claimed that they had reached out to the defendants counsel and proposed a joint briefing schedule but the defendants refused to cooperate. Grant’s attorneys claimed that the defendants “would attempt to seize upon the sudden and tragic loss of Judge Meyer for a litigation advantage.”

In regards to McMahon’s settlement with the SEC, Grant’s attorneys argued that it is ” undeniably relevant to this Court. Furthermore, the object of the agreements cited in the SEC Order was to conceal human trafficking. The SEC Order provides evidence that McMahon sought to silence multiple women, not just Plaintiff, in his scheme to conceal his predatory behaviors and avoid accountability from the Company’s board, potential merger partners, future shareholders, and the public. These facts are material to this Court’s assessment of whether the illegal NDA agreement can be enforced.”

In the filing, Grant’s attorney’s also brought up their allegations against Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness are due to him being paid by McMahon and he has been “withholding her medical records, which document those treatments and Defendant McMahon’s involvement. This Court deserves the benefit of up-to-date facts regarding the role this doctor played in McMahon’s pattern of coercion and control.”

Johnson reported that the Defendants will have the opportunity to officially reply to Grant’s response before the court makes a decision whether the case will proceed in court or be shifted to private arbitration.
