Matt Hardy Comments on The Hardys Current NXT Run Being Done But Have More Stuff Lined up with WWE

This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff Hardy) defeating Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy’s thoughts about The Hardys match against Fraxiom.

“I think they (Fraxiom) have really good instincts for being younger guys. They are both so fast. Jeff (Hardy) and I, we said in our post-show promos, because WWE interviewed us specifically for one. A WWE camera and then there was a social media camera. We did a couple promos there. I mean, that’s one thing we both said over and over. The speed when they ran out and did those dives was just jaw-dropping, it was explosive. So those guys move. They move really, really fast. Every time they moved in the ring, they were fast so, those guys were flying and I think that was part of the lure of the whole match as well because there were times in there where they were faster than us. There were a couple times when we caught them and we tried to pick them off or do whatever else but, you know, I think that was a big part of our story as well. Those guys were obviously faster. We were the young, fast guys back in the day and The Acolytes had to catch us and shut us down and now we had to catch them and try to shut them down, from that perspective. I like Fraxiom. It was our first time touching and considering that was our first time getting in the ring and wrestling a match, I was really, really happy with it. I thought it was solid all the way through and I thought it was a hell of a first match to have.”

Hardy also gave his thoughts about The Hardys current time in NXT being done but they have more stuff lined up with WWE for the future.

“Yes. I do think we would want to run it back (with Fraxiom). As of right now, our little run with NXT is wrapped. We do have some stuff on our schedule to do with WWE a little later down the road. Nothing specifically with NXT yet but… just stuff. I’m gonna leave it at that right now. We have stuff lined up with WWE so…”

GCW Owner Brett Lauderdale Denies Reported Rules for WWE ID Bookings

Game Changer Wrestling owner Brett Lauderdale denied a report from Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter about WWE’s current rules and process when it comes to WWE ID talent being booked for indie events.

Meltzer reported that his sources stated that Gabe Sapolsky puts together the matches for WWE ID talents and provides indie promotions with a script. Meltzer also reported that indie promoters are allowed to advertise that the wrestlers are a part of WWE’s WWE ID program. Meltzer also reported that WWE also provides a stipend to WWE ID talent to cover travel costs for their bookings and the promoter will pay the difference if the costs are larger than the stipend.

Following the release of the report, Lauderdale responded on Twitter about his experience with WWE ID’s program for GCW stating that Sapolsky doesn’t put together the matches nor has he ever been given nor seen a script for the matches.

Lauderdale confirmed that promoters are allowed to push the WWE ID tag for talent announcements but GCW does not do this specifically for their announcements.

Lauderdale also stated that he is not aware of any travel stipend or travel share for costs but this is something that would be good if WWE helped covered the costs.

Besides Lauderdale, DEFY Wrestling also responded on Twitter and confirmed that Lauderdale’s experience with WWE ID is the same as theirs for WWE ID talent bookings.
