Lex Luger Reportedly Informed WWE of Wanting Sting to Inducted Him Into WWE Hall of Fame & Sting’s Potential Status
As noted before, former WWE and WCW wrestler Lex Luger will be inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame as a member of this year’s class. Luger had stated in a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio that he has two undisclosed people in mind that he would like to induct him into WWE’s Hall of Fame.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Luger had informed WWE officials that Sting was his top choice to induct him into their Hall of Fame.
Sapp also reported that Sting currently remains under an AEW Legend style deal but it is currently not known whether AEW would need to sign off on him appearing on WWE programming.
Sapp reported that it is currently not known if WWE has contacted AEW to help make that happen but they are making efforts to bring Sting in for the ceremony.
In an interesting note, Luger had attended Sting’s retirement match at AEW’s Revolution 2024 event in March of 2024 but was not allowed to be shown on camera due to WWE had asked him to not do so and he agreed to their request due to him being under a WWE Legends contract.
Goldberg Retirement Match Update- Goldberg Says He’ll Be Cleared to Wrestle Soon & Potential Opponents for His Retirement Match
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg will be having a retirement match in WWE for his wrestling career at some point this year.
A recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show featured Goldberg as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Goldberg’s thoughts about him currently not having a timeframe set for his retirement match but he is expected to be medically cleared to wrestle soon.
“I don’t have any idea. I just know that I got stem cells five weeks and six days ago, and I’m cleared physically in a very short period of time.”
Goldberg also gave his thoughts about potential opponents for his retirement match.
“I never got a chance to get my hand around Cena’s throat. That might have been cool. There are a lot of people I would have loved to have faced back in the day, but the fact is, what does that do for the business now? A lot of people don’t even remember me that watch wrestling right now. A lot of people don’t know me because they speak negatively of me. I think I was an innovator of sorts. There are a plethora (of people). I’d love to have a rematch with Roman [Reigns]. There are so many guys that are so talented and on the cusp of stardom if not there yet, that are possibilities. Bron Breakker. It’s a logical solution. It’s all in how the powers that be want to make it happen. We’ll figure it out and hopefully, at the end of the day, I’m able to present myself in a positive manner to where the people of today, who don’t remember me, will sure as frick remember me after they see me my last time, and it won’t be in a negative way.”

The Sandman stated “I hated it there. I had no friends. It was soul sucking. I hated to get on a plane. I hated to go there. I hated to be in the locker room. I couldn’t wait to get out of the fucking building. I hated it so much. You know how everyone goes on TV and they want as much time as they can, they had to tell me to stop going home early. I was going in there and giving them five minutes. Kevin Dunn sends it down to [referee Mike] Chioda, ‘Do not go home early.’ I went home early every single match. Never took any time I was allotted.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Maurizio Merluzzo, former WWE and current TNA talent Santino Marella gave his thoughts about him making his official WWE in Italy and him telling Arianna Grace to see if she could follow his footsteps and make her official main roster debut at this Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Bologna, Italy. Marella stated “It’s interesting because this was Vince’s idea because he wanted to do something to grow the popularity in Italy. Now, I know the popularity came down a little bit, but I think now it’s coming back up. So my daughter wrestles in NXT, and I believe this year, she’ll be called up. So I messaged her yesterday and said, ‘Hey, see if you can debut in Bologna.’ It would be historical. I don’t know if she is, but that would be amazing.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
