WWE: CM Punk on Main Eventing WrestleMania Goal No Longer “That Big of a Deal” to Him, The Hardys Main Roster Return Run Rumors Update, Jade Cargill Return Plans Update

CM Punk Comments on Goal of Main Eventing WrestleMania No Longer “That Big of a Deal” to Him

Inside the Ropes held a recent interview with CM Punk. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s recent return to WWE would jeopardize his chance of getting to main event WrestleMania 41 and his goal of main eventing WrestleMania no longer being that “big of a deal” to him for his career.

“Sure, but I also think that the things that I may have said or did 10, 12 years ago, I think there’s a lot of fans that have held onto that say more than I have. I think there’s a lot of things that are less important to me in 2025. So yeah, sometimes I’m like, well, it’s really not that big of a deal. Main eventing WrestleMania has always been a goal of mine. But goals change. It doesn’t mean I don’t want to wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania, but I’m at the stage of my career now where I’m like, ‘Oh, okay. So this person’s gonna main event? Alright, well. You’re not gonna be able to follow this, so I don’t know what to tell you. I’ll go first and I’ll shower, and I’ll eat some doughnuts, and I’ll watch whatever you call a main event, and I’ll just go, ‘Well, yeah, all right. I was right. They couldn’t follow it.”

Backstage Update on The Hardys Potential WWE Main Roster Return Run This Year

This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show in Cincinnati, Ohio featured The Hardys’ Matt & Jeff Hardy making their in-ring return to WWE for their NXT brand. WWE is currently optimistic that the Hardys will have a return run for their main roster at some point this spring or summer.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials have yet to hold any actual discussions regarding potential plans to bring in The Hardys for a return run on their main roster as of this past Wednesday.

Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that someone could always pitch the idea of bringing in the Hardys to use for a certain situation in the future but this is something that has yet to be discussed.

Jade Cargill Injury Situation & WWE Return Plans Status Update

As noted before, Jade Cargill has been out of action for WWE following an injury angle on the November 22nd WWE SmackDown show in Salt Lake City, Utah. The situation with Cargill’s injury status has led to conflicting reports over it being genuine or just a storyline injury.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Cargill was seen in Buffalo, New York on Friday ahead of WWE’s SmackDown show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that night.

Johnson reported that while Cargill was not in Toronto for WWE’s show that night, the close proximity between the two cities and Saturday’s Elimination Chamber 2025 event taking place in Toronto suggests the possibility of her return being soon.

Johnson reported that Cargill no longer has been showing up to WWE’s Performance Center of late which is an indication of her making her return soon and possibly as early as this weekend and defiantly in time for WrestleMania 41.
