Sayaka Kurara Wins 2025 Stardom Cinderella Tournament

Saturday’s Cinderella Tournament 2025 event at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan featured Sayaka Kurara defeating Rina in the Finals to become the winner of this year’s tournament.

Following the match, Kurara was given a crown and trophy as part of the annual tradition for the winner’s celebration. This victory celebration also included the winner being granted a “wish.”

Kurara stated that her “wish” was not present and there is a decision she has made but could not share it at the moment. Kurara also stated that she will reveal it when the time is right.

This was Kurara’s first ever Cinderella Tournament victory in her Stardom career.


Two New Matches & Ricochet Appearance Announced for FSW Mecca X: Beynefit for Bey Event

Future Stars of Wrestling recently announced two new matches for the card of their Mecca X: Beynefit for Bey event, which takes place on March 23rd at the FSW Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This upcoming event will be helping raise funds for Chris Bey’s medical costs for his neck injury and surgery.

The first new match announced was FSW Heavyweight Championship Five-way Scramble match of TJP vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Gregory Sharpe vs. Ice Williams vs. Danny Limelight (c).

The second new match announced was a singles match of Karrion Kross vs. Hammerstone.

It was also announced that Ricochet will be making an appearance for the company at their upcoming event.

Sunday’s New Japan Cup 2025 event for New Japan Pro Wrestling in Shizuoka, Japan featured David Finlay defeating Zack Sabre Jr. in a Semifinal Round match. Finlay will be facing off against the winner of Shota Umino/Shingo Takagi in the Finals of this year’s tournament.

NJPW reportedly drew a paid attendance of 1,508 for their March 8th New Japan Cup 2025 event in Tokyo, 2,412 for their March 9th New Japan Cup 2025 event in Amagasaki, 1,312 for their March 11th New Japan Cup 2025 event in Okayama, and 924 for their March 12th New Japan Cup 2025 event in Uwajima, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

As noted before, WWE is currently very interested in signing NJPW talent Jeff Cobb to a potential contract with the company. Cobb’s contract with NJPW had expired this past January but has continued to work for the company since then. Saturday’s NJPW New Japan Cup 2025 in Nagoya, Japan featured Shota Umino defeating Cobb to eliminate him from the tournament. Following his match, Cobb gave his thoughts in a backstage post-match press conference stating that he will be “good boy” and finish the remainder of the tour but he is coming after the winner of the New Japan Cup. Cobb then did a The Bloodline style finger in the air gesture and Roman Reigns’ “acknowledge me” catchphrase. Cobb stated “I’m gonna be a good boy and finish this tournament tour and whoever walks out the New Japan Cup champion, I will come knock, knock, knocking, and whoever it is I have to fight, you will acknowledge me.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

Saturday’s Mayhem Night 2 event for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Windsor, Ontario, Canada featured Kylie Rae defeating Taylor Rising and Gisele Shaw defeating Serena Deeb to advance to the Finals of the MLP Canadian Women’s Championship Tournament. Rae and Shaw will be facing off in the Finals at MLP’s Northern Rising event on May 10th in Toronto.

As noted before, ESPN recently issued a free replay of UFC’s UFC 313 event on their ESPN+ service due to serious technical issues that affecting the live broadcast of the show. The New York Post’s Eric Richter reported that his sources stated that both TKO and UFC officials have been furious with ESPN regarding streaming issues that have affected UFC’s events throughout their deal. In a follow-up report, Richter reported in a recent episode of New York Post’s Against The Cage podcast that he was recently contacted by a “well connected person” who told him that UFC would “surely” try to make a deal with Netflix once their exclusive negotiating window with ESPN expires.

Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre reportedly drew an attendance of around 7,000 for their Match 7th Funcion 100% Femenil Conmemorando El Dia Internacional De La Mujer event at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling reportedly drew an attendance of 873 for their 16 Carat Gold 2025 event on March 7th in Oberhausen, 1,023 for their March 8th 16 Carat Gold 2025 event in Oberhausen, and 901 for their Mach 9th 16 Carat Gold 2025 event in Oberhausen, Germany, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Major League Wrestling recently announced that HIMAWARI is the next official competitor for this year’s Battle Riot match at their Battle Riot VII event on April 5th in Los Angeles, California.

Stardom reportedly drew a paid attendance of 1,037 for their March 8th Cinderella Tournament 2025 event in Yokohama, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
