David Finlay Wins NJPW New Japan Cup 2025

Thursday’s New Japan Cup 2025 Finals event for New Japan Pro Wrestling in Nagaoka, Japan featured David Finlay defeating Shota Umino to become the winner of this year’s New Japan Cup tournament.

As a result of his victory, Finlay will be facing off against Hirooko Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at this April’s Sakura Genesis 2025 event in Tokyo.

This was Finlay’s first ever New Japan Cup tournament victory in his NJPW career.
