Orlando Sports Commission Reportedly Requesting $18 Million Grant to Bid on UFC & WWE Events, Including WrestleMania 47 in 2031

The Orlando Business Journal’s Ryan Lynch reported that The Greater Orlando Sports Commission recently put in a request for a multi-year $18 million grant in tourist development funds to bid on UFC and WWE events for the city.

Lynch reported that this proposed grant has been advanced by Orlando’s Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee and the next step will be for the grant to be presented to Orange County for potential final approval.

Lynch reported that if approved, the events would see a projected total of 300,000 attendees for four TKO Group events, 120,000 room nights booked at hotels in the area, and bring in more than $255 million in revenue for the city of Orlando.

Lynch also reported that the city of Orlando is currently seeking to host the following UFC and WWE events over the next several years:

  • 2026 – a WWE Survivor Series 2026 PLE in November or a Saturday Night’s Main Event in December at the Kia Center.
  • 2027 – a UFC event in either August or September at Kia Center.
  • 2028 – WWE’s Royal Rumble PLE at Camping World Stadium in February 2028.
  • 2031 – Host WrestleMania 47 in mid-to-late April 2031 at the Camping World Stadium. The Kia Center would also host events during WrestleMania week.

Orlando previously hosted WrestleMania XXIV in 2008 and WrestleMania 33 in 2017.
