More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for March 26th
The March 26th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a slight increase in overall viewership and key demographic rankings but suffered a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 663,000 viewers and a 0.17 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #10 place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s mixed results this week was due to the decline from their their overall key demographic viewership group, which was down 10.1% compared to last week’s show. Of AEW’s key demographic viewership decline, their younger female key demographic viewership group was down 44.2% compared to last week’s show. This mostly offset the stronger than usual lead-in programming and the small increases from their Over 50 viewership, which its percentage was not given, and younger male key demographic viewership group, which was up 23.1% compared to last week’s show. This week’s show was the first in some time that AEW had more younger males than younger females for their younger key demographic viewership group. Meltzer reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known. AEW’s lead-in programming Big Bang Theory reportedly drew 976,000 viewers and a 0.16 rating.
In terms of head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Los Angeles Lakers vs. Indiana Pacers drew 1,451,000 viewers on ESPN, the NBA game of Boston Celtics vs. Phoenix Suns drew 1,246,000 viewers on ESPN, the 2025 NIT Men’s Basketball Tournament game of Kent State vs. Loyola-Chicago drew 377,000 viewers on ESPN2, the 2025 NIT Men’s Basketball Tournament game of Alabama-Birmingham vs. UC Irvine drew 362,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NHL game of New Jersey Devils vs. Chicago Blackhawks drew 202,000 viewers on TNT, Survivor drew 4,767,000 viewers on CBS, The Challenge drew 299,000 viewers on MTV, and Summer House drew 4759,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 232,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 48,000 viewers (up 23.1%), Females 18-34 had 24,000 viewers (down 44.2%), Males 35-49 had 121,000 viewers (down 9.7%), and Females 35-49 had 38,000 viewers (down 9.5%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 72.8% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 10.7% in overall viewership and down 22.9% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 20.9% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer also reported that one main reason for the large declines is due to the unknown key demographic viewership migration on MAX compared to last year’s show.

The March 22nd episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership, a large increase in key demographic ratings, and a small increase in key demographic rankings. That week’s shows was notable for being the Collision Slam Dunk Saturday and Slam Dunk Sunday specials, for being split up into two one-hour shows, and for being preempted to a later than usual start time due to TNT’s commitments with the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
AEW drew 554,000 viewers and a 0.20 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #11 place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to a combination of the much larger than usual lead-in programming from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and the very large increase from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was up 103% compared to the prior week’s show. Of AEW’s key demographic viewership increase, their younger female key demographic viewership group was up 88.1% compared to last week’s show This reportedly offset the later than usual start time for that week’s show and the decline from their younger female key demographic viewership group, which was down 12.1% compared to the prior week’s show. Meltzer reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game of UCLA vs. Tennessee drew 2,328,000 viewers on TBS and 721,000 viewers on truTV and On Patrol Live drew 579,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 272,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 82,000 viewers (up 215.4%), Females 18-34 had 29,000 viewers (down 12.1%), Males 35-49 had 118,000 viewers (up 131.4%), and Females 35-49 had 48,000 viewers (up 100%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 73.5% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW did not hold a a show for the same week last year due to Collision being preempted for NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament coverage on TNT.
